Patch 1.6 "RomeTW-BI.exe not detected"

I've recently bought the Rome: Anthology boxset and completed RTW and wanted to play Barbarian Invasion.

I have installed BI successfully and wanted to install the 1.6 patch.

I have already installed the 1.3 patch for RTW but haven't installed the 1.5 patch, do I NEED to install 1.5 in order to install 1.6??

Because I installed 1.5 originally and then tried to install 1.6 but this error message appeared "RomeTW-BI.exe not found" even though I'd pasted the patch directly into the program file EXACTLY where BI.exe is

So what am I doing wrong please???... :hmmm:

There is no need for past patches.

Install RTW, Install BI and - if BI is only 1.4 and not 1.6 (check "options" in game) then apply patch 1.6

That is all you need to do.

In other words: BI patches Rome as well, and the 1.6 patch takes Rome up to 1.5

Um, I'm now getting a Microsoft Windows error message that keeps saying "Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly."

Do you have any idea what could be causing this please???

Windows malfunction. Restart your computer. That will cure 90% of the problems. For the other 10%, what else do you have running besides the game?

That sounds like a Vista thing. There are other threads around that discuss Vista and how to set it up to install games on.

If you are using Vista look at the shortcut properties and make sure that the game is running in Windows XP compatible mode....

It's ok, problem's solved now...

I simply re-insert the disc and it loads it up fine now.

Hi, I got a message as well saying "RTW.exe not detected. I have the game installed on my C: drive. I tried installing the 1.5 patch and the error came up, then I tried installing the 1.6 patch instead knowing it would patch both and the same error came up. Please help.

What version of the game do you have as in original cds, Gold Edition, Eras, Steam, other?

What version of Windows as in XP, Vista, Win 7?

Start RTW, and on the Options page, what is the version number?

Something tells me you need the BI 1.6 patch if you installed BI, also, if they are not already patched.

It has Rome Total War patched to 1.3. I tried using the BI 1.6 patch as well but the same error came up.

Have you disabled the UAC?
Did you install in the default location?

I'm getting this problem now:
RTW-BI.exe not detected.
My game version in options says it's 1.6, but when I go to multiplayer in BI it says I don't have the correct version. I bought my game from a company that is overseas called White Label in Rome Total War Anthology and the games already came as 1.6.
The Rome Total War patch was successful, so I can play RTW online. Then I look for a BI patch for 1.6, and Softpedia has once again failed me with the message "RTW-BI.exe is not detected."

This game was of course legally purchased from a legitimate company, and not pirated.

The download website is Softpedia. I unzipped the zipped file, and launched the download application.
I am using Windows 7 (as you might remember, probably not, from my trouble with Medieval 2: Total War).
