A bug, help please.

Hiyas, I tried searching the forums but didn't find anything for my problem. I reinstalled MII again after awhile and now when i try playing it, in the first turn every so many button presses the game does something as if I pressed a number of buttons:

opens up ESC menu.
mutes the sound of the game
saves the game
opens up the window that opens up with "`"
and a few other things

It doesn't matter what button i press. I can't play, it's patched up to 1.3, i run it on vista with more than enough specs, i tried it with xp compatibility on and off, someone help please. With xp compatibility off, it wont even run, just keeps asking for correct DVD.
