Money - What gives???

Ok, so here is a breakdown of my financials for a turn, and it happened a number of times, so it is obviously part of the game, but what gives?????

Projected total Income: 8836
Expenditures: 4185
Profit: 4651
Total(with money in the bank): 10216
but nooooo, I only have let's say 5600 instead, I lost 4K

Sicily, M/M

If this is part of the way to make things difficult, does not make sense, take the time to build my economy, only to lose 4k a turn for what????

corruption could be taking it away did you check that?

The corruption is low, like less than 200 florins, so that is not it unless it is not reporting the true corruption loss.

How many generals do you have in the field it might be the field script(1000florins for enemy territory and 500 florins for friendly territory)

All my generals are either in forts(no cost for up to two units) or in cities, not in my territory or enemy territory. Only thing outside my settlements are priests(4), diplomats(1) and merchants(2). Nothing else that would incur costs are out there.

Forts don't protect generals for the script, they still ravage the countryside for supplies

Think of it as all the damage they are doing to the local economy by being in the field. Sort of Enhanced devastation.

It doesn't say ravaging or loss of income when you look at the city screen. But I will test to see that if they are in cities that they cost less. Those costs would be seen in the financial screen when looking at the total costs. According to the explanations, in forts, they cost nothing for up to two units. I am perplexed how I am losing 4000 florins, but you could be right.

Please take the following points to your observations as pre-conditions:

- The turns income tab doesn't show the scripted field money (or any scripted costs, as far as i can recall).

- The characters in forts still cost the scripted field money, but not their upkeep, so only the positioning in settlements will save you from the field costs.
