Default Al-Qaida blasts Iran for working with US

Al-Qaida marked the anniversary of the September 11 attacks Monday with an hour-and-a-half video message summarizing the state of jihad, or holy war, around the world and slamming Iran for collaborating with the United States.

In the short excerpts aired on the Arab satellite news channel Al-Jazeera, al-Qaida Number 2 Ayman al-Zawahri accused Iran working with US forces.

"The guardian of Muslims in Teheran is cooperating with the Americans in occupying Iraq and Afghanistan and recognizes the two hireling governments there," he said.

Zawahri also criticized the Shi'ites for not "issuing any fatwa (edict) inside or outside Iraq calling for jihad and carrying arms against the Crusader occupier in Iraq." In militant postings, "crusaders" is shorthand for US troops in Iraq.

this says only one thing - Alqaida is losing everywhere, even Teheran does not support those....

But it does not explain why Alqaida is so successful in Afganistan though.

I am suspicious there might be more to this than meets the eye....like a misdirection play in football. A ruse.

For example, if the impression is made that Al Queda is on the run, that even the most fervent anti-American muslim country, Iran, is hopping in the shower with America, wouldn't that give a political benefit to McCain? I'm sure a militant President plays into their aims much better than a more diplomatic individual.

It doesn't matter if Al-Qaida blasts Iran for "helping" the USA. Bush wants a war regardless.

Al-Qaeda had their fun....now playtime is over....they should call it quits.

The remarks about Iran are meant for the Sunni's in Iraq to continue the extremist strife for civil war. And to stir up things in Afghanistan and Pakistan, were Sunni's and Shias are also at each others throat.

If one country helped the US shortly after 9/11 in Afghanistan it has been Iran who brokered most of the deals with the opposition and providing vital information. They wanted to get rid of Al Qaida and the Taliban as well. In return they were declared part of the axis of evil.

They execute people though for being nothing more than homosexual.
That seems pretty evil to me. How about you?

Please don't play that card, the U.S executes people, so who are they to complain? Iran isn't evil, just a little backwards.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

Prove me that the US executes people and you get a cookie.
US only holds them illegally but doesn't execute.

I reserve the right to play any card in my deck.

When exactly was the last time the US executed someone for being homosexual?

I remember when they got annoyed at the Iranians calling 9/11 a Zionist conspiracy, saying they were insulting the "brave martyrs" who carried out the attack.

Just so that everyone knows, Al-Qaeda considers Iran a bigger enemy than Zionism and Bushism combined and vice-versa.

We surely have much more of a right to stand on that pedestal than a country who executes people for their sexual preferences or for having sex outside of marriage, wouldn't you agree?

Sure, we don't execute people for that reason, but bear in mind we have states that hold it is illegal to engage in sodomy...

    It's as simple as this.
    Al-qaeda is a sunni organization.
Iran is a shiite dominated country.

If Iraq should have taught you anything at all it is that sunnis and shiites do not get along.

Far be it for me to discuss with someone with so much bling under their name but here goes...

Sodomy has not been illegal in the US since the 2003 Supreme Court decision, Lawrence vs Texas. At that time only 14 states still had sodomy laws on their books, with penalties ranging from a $500 fine in Texas to life imprisonment in Idaho. I can find no examples of executions for sodomy in the US that are more recent than the late 1600 colonial era (they burned witches then too remember ).

As far as what our little adventure in Iraq has taught me, it's to never again believe what my government tells me at face value.

Oh, of course, silly me, I forgot that it's A-O-K to sell chemical weapons to an oppressive dictator.
