MTW2 Gold Edition Patch

i bought the gold edition anout a month ago and want to play some of the mods but i cant figure out how to unpack the game and someone told me that i needed the newest version of the game to unpack it. im running the 1.04 version... is that the newest? and if not where can i find the newest patch?

You can unpack the game using the unpacker which can be found in the tools folder (in your M2TW folder). Vanilla has the unpacker since version 1.2. Kingdoms can be unpacked with the same unpacker. Just read the readme file in the tools folder.
