43 is done. As tedious as writing and editing text is, I'm enjoying doing this job. It feels like story telling. If the player takes the time to read each event he'll definitely learn something of the war.

    {JAN_43_TITLE}Cornwall marches
    {FEB_43_TITLE}Peace?
    {MAR_43_TITLE}What's yours is ours!
    {JUN_43_TITLE}Newcastle sends Fairfax packing
    {JUL_43_TITLE}A terrible time for roundheads
    {AUG_43_TITLE}Gloucester stands firm
    {SEP_43_TITLE}Hull defies the Royalists again
    {OCT_43_TITLE}Parliament looks for help
    {DEC_43_TITLE}'King Pym' dies

Thanks to GED it's 12 turns per year. 3 turns are winter turns and your movement points are massively reduced.

I made the end date 1651 which marked the end of the 3rd English civil war. That's 11 years x 12 turns. That gives the player 108 turns to complete the campaign. You should be able to play on after '51 though.

Events are becoming a bit tedious to add. It's taken 2 days to get this far! Each event comprises a pop-up message with a full page of text. I will finish 1645 and 1646 and after that, the events of the 2nd and 3rd civil wars will be quite sporadic.

Oh and by the way, I've decided that when the historical event triggers, the gameplay event will also trigger. So for example, the first event here, Jan 44, 'The scots invade', is the turn on which the Scottish force commanded by Leven will spawn on the campaign map.

    {JAN_44_TITLE}The Scots invade!
    {FEB_44_TITLE}Committee for both kingdoms
    {MAR_44_TITLE}Newark under siege!
    {MAR_2_44_TITLE}Waller thrashes Hopton!
    {APR_44_TITLE}Parliament besieges York
    {MAY_44_TITLE}Rupert to the rescue
    {JUL_44_TITLE}Marston moor
    {AUG_44_TITLE}Events of August
    {SEP_44_TITLE}Essex abandons his men
    {OCT_44_TITLE}Parliament victorious at Newbury
    {NOV_44_TITLE}Cromwell complains

    Cheers

I don't understand this bit how could Cromwell put Charles on trial for TREASON if treason was going against the monarchy, usless they bent the rules

It was treason against the country not aginst the monarch, something illustrated well by the mods title - parliamentarians were fighting for their country, royalists for the King (although Royalists would also have said they were fighting for their country).
