    Default My Issue with Multiplayer

I don't think this has been discussed in this section yet, but if it has then tell me and I will bring my fustration elsewhere.

The most fustrating part about multiplayer is joining a game and when the host needs a spot he chooses you, not because he has played you before and nows your bad or annoyance, but because everyone else has a clan name. They therefore are better then you and deserve to stay in the game. I just find the whole stereotype that being in a clan is synonomous with beign a talent commander, when I have clearly met many players in clans that couldn't maneuver themselves around a traffic cone let alone a battlefield. Well that's my two cents on the matter, if you agree or disagree post I am curious to hear what others think.

    Doctor,
Try hosting some of your own games so that you don't have to put up with some of the people online.

Yeah some people who are in clans can be right idiots and sadly they tend to be the noisier ones
I am in a clan myself and it does help to improve your game play and you do meet some nice people, so we are not all bad
Problem I face sometimes is that you host a game and state 15,000 cwb, non clannies join and say that they know cwb, or if they don't I offer them no art no ele and they still completly dis-obey the rules
Or I will host a game saying for example Reeve only and loads of non-clannies still join
So these are the reasons some people prefer to play only clannies, I myself play all comers but I can understand their frustrations

Prince is right hosting is best, just try to be clear on the game title as to the type of game you want, IE 10,000 no rules or 15,000 cwb etc

Or join some of the tourneys on TWC you will learn a lot and get some competitive games and be very welcome

Argeed. Some clan people can be real mean and stuck up, but in reality, a lot of them are nice.

Just try hosting some games, plus try to join other games where you know you might not get treated like crap by those idoits.

The problem is the amount of people not in clans who break the rules, for example you ask if they know cwb rules, they say yes and when the battle starts they have art or something, i guess when we see the clan tags we know that that player has some experience and shouldn't break the rules etc.

Yesterday me and emotion_name played a non clannie who had a spartan spam and some artillery on top of a hill, we took out the artillery, but we were not going up the hill. after a bit he said he was bored and quit the game.

I have clearly met many players in clans that couldn't maneuver themselves around a traffic cone let alone a battlefield
yes there are some new clans who will take absolutely anyone onboard but most clan members know who those clans are and if we need a space theyre second on the kick list.

Exactly!! Doctor mate, try to look at it from the other side. If me and some clan mates do a 2v2 or 3v3, most of the time anyone non-clan who joins doesnt know cwb rules, a few are even afraid to admit this as they get kicked for it, something i never do, but then you type out all the rules, and because its happened before you cant shorten words.

I mean for every person who joins i gotta type no elephants, no artillery etc, and then specify artillery= Onagers, scorpions etc, and i find still the rules get broken. This then spoils the game when, like yesterday, everyone says they know cwb but some dude had some onagers and a spartan spam.

With clannies the risk of having rules broken and game spoilt is lower, however you do get some clans which break rules on purpose.

The clan im in, The Warriors of Troy, will play anyone whether clan or not, as long as they're respectful. I got a list of people i wont play anymore because they break rules, these get kicked as soon as they join but everyone else gets a chance.

Anyways, if you ever see me online your more than welcome to join a game with me, im [WOT]{LC}Confused_Johnny, i can guarantee you that you wont be kicked for being clanless!

Some people are just innoble like that. Take Prince's advice and try hosting some of your own games. Also, I'm not sure if this works all the time, but if you put [TWC] before your name, some people tend to think it's a clan and accept you more.

That works some of the time but not all the time. its mainly the "new" clans who fall for that one.

Wow thanks for the quick replies this forum is really active. I think from now on I will host majority of the games I play. I might try putting [TWC] in front of my name, but I really like just being Doctor with no extra bells and whistles. Now that I lok at from the other side like emotion said I have memories of non-clan people breaking rules and dropping out of games far quicker than clan members. Once again thanks for the quick replies.

I have never played BI online and rarely can get through a campaign, but I might try it sometime , and yes I completely agree that a good percentage of people online are looking for an arguement and enjoy occasional racism.....

BI online is a lot of fun, though there aren't a lot of people playing it. You'll need to ask around in the lobby's if anyone want's to play.

Definately is fun. General Chaos has just finished hosting his BI tourney, which was great fun. Maybe if you look out to see if he does another and join up.

It was in this tourney i got to play BI online for the first time.

It was 4 games each, plus the final for Al Merko and myself, so I got 5 quality BI games out of it. I want to play more BI.

the best thing to do is host... this has been said before but it is still best...

find your niche then stick to it... you will soon know the others on server that play same style and you'll have your pool play in....

you could always harass and heckle the lobby into playing a game but i recommend strongly against this course of action

also ask in lobby if it is clan only game or open....

as far as game spy is concerned the only good game is that one that loads and is actually played no matter who is in the battle

I strongly disagree with the advice of putting a pretend Tag onto your name because any clans will instanly know that you are not a clan member, this will make the host more likely to kick you . Just be yourself be honest when you join a game ask what the rules are and if they say CWB rules and you dont know them ask and learn them . Doctor most clans are ok with new guys after all thats how they recruite new members so the key thing is be polite and dont say things like "Let me play I will own you all"

I always put [TWC] in front of my name. Not to pretend that I am one of the "übercool" clannies, but simply to show that I am me in tournaments. And I never take it away. On that note, I always host my own games when not playing with friends. And daxypoo, posting in a thread that hasn't been used in a month is called necro-ing a thread. Generally it's frowned upon, so just post in active threads or start a new one.
