Obama is a n00b and will destroy this country with his communist policies, like a trillion dollar tax hike, going after "Big Oil", causing gas to go to $8.00 a gallon, and invading Pakistan. I hope he's as bad as they say he is, because if he wins, it means the destruction of the federal government and Dixie's freedom. Plus, with all the enemies Amerikkka has made, Russia and China will jump right in to help (I hope).

You are aware that the South is much more poor than the North, right? Also, the President controls the military. So unless there is a textile mill in Georgia that can switch to manufacturing F-22 parts, then I think your idea would be a funny failure.

Anyway, from what I could understand of the OP, he isn't really saying the South will rise again, so much as the Union will implode and give rise to smaller regional powers.

As Kennylz said, the South is way too poor to exist on its own. Only some parts of the south have become more prosperous. In fact, some southern states such as South Carolina have weaker economics ever since factories began moving to Asia.

Even without the North, the South would be more prosperous than most of Europe, which seems to do fine on it's own.

Any talk of secession is stupid, but to assume that any major part of the country wouldn't make a fairly successful independent nation is incorrect.

So taking the same logic I've seen in this thread, Scotland shouldn't leave the UK because it would be economically detrimental or because the idea of Scottish independence is just a silly idea that belongs in the past? That's the way of thinking that allows tyranny to flourish.

But none of that matters, because spending remains out of control, the quality of out armed forces continues to diminish, we totter on the bring of economic misery, and Russia/China continue to ascend into superpower status. So I think we stand a good chance of obtaining freedom.
