spqr-vista help?

okay guys ive manajed to install spqr on 2 comps witch both happened to be XP pffft...
i got spqr to work on vista. ONCE and this was about 3-4 installs and uninstalls. eventual i broke install sheild by deleting the error scripts LOL i deleted the folders here C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime
before i deleted these files i had, had problems installing. these problems resolved.. untill now.

thats why i cant try this again... LOL

so cant resolve it.

i maneged to install spqr on the 3rd time... campagn/custom battle. wouldnt work. lol.


i am using wirless witch might be corsing a corrupt download? and its taked 34 hours uploading a 1.4kb vid to utube witch i eventualy stopped cuz it was pissing me off...


is there any reeson for vista messing everything up?

is it my wireless... ?

i dont know but the same happened with RS {roma serrectum}

only custom battle worked.

lol im starting to think its vista because one of the computers i used to install spqr on xp was wireless... AND THIS ONES SUPPOSED TO BE FASTER!!! witch it is...

any tips ppl... this would help every one else whu needs help with vista.


it wouldnt help me cuz my install things bust... lawl...


also now i check those folders..

they are now there but it says my disc drive is bust... lol

i also had to manually stop the install internaly lol... and after that it said something like


"the watsername has recoverd successfully"

turned out this was wrong...

so yeh if any one can help. just cuz im getting a new laptop soon {lol}

Could definitely be your internet. If it can't handle handling a Youtube video, than I doubt it can download a 200 MB mod.

Are you an admin?

That's odd I have vista and it works just fine? I think its how you install it try installing it by administrator rout. Now if your not well then it how you are installing it for as bad a s vista may sound I have had no prob's with it. Pluse I have wireless so it isnt that.

there where problems in the past with vista but if it takes so long to upload a 1.4kb vid? the problem could lie in the wirless. yust a thought

Well hiho Tw I really dont know what to tell ya but good luck to ya. The only time it did I had that happen to me was when I didnt install it as admin.

this is the error i get >.> autorun.exe has stopped working... any segestions?

The only thing I can think of is that your drivers are not working or file's are not being installed when you install it. I had a simaller prob but it was with a different game, I dont know what to tell ya there? Sorry Nothing comes to mind but try installing it on another computer and see if it works for it seem as though my would'nt work at one point in time but then it work fine on another computer . So I went back to my computer and it installed just fine? Try asking it in the technical help section maybe you might have better luck there

Tried installing RTW on Vista today and it didnt work, Bastard.

I install upto 1.5 and then try to run the game before i install SPQR but it said filename not found when i used the no-cd crack.
So then i re-installed and used the cd.
It said please insert correct cd if i double click on the RTW icon.

If i autorun the cd and press play RTW, it says Rome:total war has stopped working and just fails to run.

Any ideas on what could be the problem?

I think RTW was created in times when there were no mentions about vista at all. Thus, I assume, RTW was customized exactly for xp operational system. Try to guess now why it doesn't want to work...

So you think it wont work at all?
Ive heard other people on here have got it to work with Vista but im running the 64-bit Vista.

i believe you can switch the game to xp mode when using vista i don' t know if it will work but you can try it.

this is how it works with xp (i hope it will be the same with vista) :

- select the spqr (ore rtw) start icon
- right click it
- go to properties
- go to the tab menu compatibility
- set it to xp

Ive tried that and use Windows 2000/ME and 98SE from the list. I have also tried running as Administrator.
I have tried this on all shortcuts, so the one on the desktop, start menu and program files(86x)\Activision.

The cd makes a noise then says please insert correct cd-rom and restart application. If i use the no-cd crack it starts and then says filename not found and then some strange letters and symbols.
Been on google and might try disabling something called UAC next.
