    Default Proudly Catholic

I'm VERY, but VERY VERY VERY tired to see everywhere people saying that Catholic Church is something like a crazy religion where people follows blindly the Pope and where Catholics have a lot of incomprehensible bans (also imposed by the crazy Pope).

I am proud to be Catholic and follow the Pope, but I eat don't meat on Fridays and I don't go to mass every Sunday (but I try it). I believe in the Evolution Theory, in the Big Bang, and much other things that the Bilbe contradicts, and also I am studying at a Jesuit school, and if they teached me these things is because we, Catholics, don't are people that stays all their live praying and going to mass.

I know this message won't go to all the Protestants and Atheists, but to everyone in this forum: PLEASE, stop saying these stupid prejudices and let everyone follow the religion he wants to follow.

I don't like my Religion much (Catholicism), because I don't like some of it's ideas and some manners and traditions of the church as a institution. But I have to say I like my local priest. He is a nice guy, very wise and with sense of humour
And BTW being proud of something is always a good idea, no matter what (And ofcourse if you are proud about some good things, not the bad things)

    Cheers

Why so rude? I didn't say that I don't believe in it (atleast not always and not in 100%) but more or less I am proud (and it doesn't excludes liking it or not) of my religion, because of my ancestors. I only don't like bureacracy and some complexes of it, and too much of traditionalism in it. That's all.

Hey man, as any other religions, there are two types of people: the extreme followers and the atheists. Im in the middle, and you might be one of the extreme followers.

And one more thing: there is a difference between being heretic and tolerant.

That's weird. If you are somewhere between atheist and catholic than why do you force me to believe to all of this things if even you don't believe in everything of those... :hmmm:Hypocrisy?

That i understand. But not going to Holy Mass every Sunday is against the most basic commandments of God and The Church. "Honor the sabbath day" is the third commandment, and "You shall attend Mass on Sundays and on holy days of obligation and rest from servile labor." is the very first Precept of the Church.

    God Bless

In order to be Catholic you must accept all her doctrines and dogmas or else you are Anathema....Sorry but if you are against any doctrines or dogmas, you have cut yourself off from the Catholic Church........says so in the Catechism....What are the beliefs you disagree with, if I may ask?

Ok don't scare people. all anethema means is that you are excommunicated with a formal cermonial flare. You can easily come back whenever you want.

In my case, I believe in all by tradition, but now I'm testing and thinking about all them and asking the priests my doubts. For the moment I still believe.

According to gospel, no it's not; Christ enumerated six commandments to follow to gain entrance to Heaven. Honoring the Sabbath day was not one of them.

Its not a matter of coming back.....like the OP stated, he goes to Mass ......so he is still in but he has spiritually cut himself off from the graces of the Church by not accepting all her teachings

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/06689a.htmThe graces of the Church are the graces that come to us through the Sacraments which Christ instituted and gave merit by his suffering in death. Thus by seperating yourself from the Church spiritually, your soul cannot recieve "Saving grace" but may recieve actual grace.

on Church see article 9 about members of the Church, it says what is required to be a member and to worthily partake in the sacraments http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03744a.htm

Who gave you the authority to infalliably interpret the Bible? Another thing, where does it say that Scripture is the only place to find God's truths
