Albania, Epirus or Illiricum?

Well the question is simple. (I open the thread again, because an administrator close it without any reason)

Why do u name the region of modern Albania, as Albania and not with it's medieval name, Illirycum or Epirus.

There was no Albania before 1000 years...

I'm just sharing my thoughts with u guys, I wonder if anybody noticed that...

Which is the best historically accurate name, to use in SS as the provincial name of the modern Albania, with Greek Epirus included.

1) Albania.
2) Epirus.

I think it should be referred to as Shqiperi, I have checked Wikipedia and that is what it was known as. In the Middle Ages it was known to his inhabitants as this. ' Shqiperi' means Land of the Two Eagles, hence there flag

Just a small correction.
Epirus is NOT Albania. The modern Albanian nation just has Northern Epirus and not the whole Epirus area.

Most players (including me) have no idea what the appropriate name should be. Would it not be better to state your case in the Suggestions or Feedback threads rather than using a poll?

Voted 5, not out of rudeness, but because there isn't a "I have no idea and don't find this to be a particularly pressing issue" option.

Epirus is the Histcorial correct name (Albania is the name of that northen area today: from the Illyrian Tribe Albanói)

i agree that this woudl be better in the suggestion thread (probly why it got closed) but i see no reason why it shouldent be changed, dont know what to though.

and omg, sir goran, did you get that picture from me and then modify it, because thaty would be awesome (it is awesome,but it would be awesome for me if you got the base off of mine, it would make me feel important and stuff

I personly dont care much about this, I do care about groningen being at the wrong place and the boundaries of that province being weird. It partially covers germany. Best would be to let the entire netherlands be a province with Utrecht as a city, since that one was far more important even at that time.

Well I think it's kind of an issue, because when E:TW comes out, it would be like labeling Wisconsin with California. Granted I know nobody can be that stupid. But put yourself in the shoes of the, current, Albanians that live in that region. Would you want your regions name to be correct on a "historicaly accurate game" or just pick a name out of a hat and say "Ah what the hell!" Just my thoughts.

I see what u mean, but considering to the historical verry GOD-Threated National Albanian Hero.. wich was ofc Skanderbeg (who defende Europe against ottoman rule for 25 years!!, together with the Hungarians) was known as:

King of Albania, Dragon of Albania, The Ottoman Nightmare and... King of Epirus, he reffered to his people "The Albanians" as "Epirotes" because they were living in Epirus, in the northen area of MAT

Gjergj (george) "Skanderbeg(Turkish 'nick-name' given to him, meaning Lord Alexander)" Kastrioti, was of Albanian heritage but considering himself as a warrior king of Albania and Epirus (at that time.. same area.. but 2 names for it)

The region was already called Albania by some in Medieval times. Not a big deal.

If you don't like the name used for this region, just change it in the game yourself.
