Offical Non-Roman campaign

How many players would like to play an offical non roman campaign?
I dont know if Lt would be interested in doing an add-on, or "approve" of one, but having modded my own game I had great fun trying to hold the Romans back from taking Europe, [ I lost btw ]. But it would be great to pit my skills agaisnt an "Lt's" arranged campaign.

You know the imperial campaign has more than one faction to choose other than Rome.

I havent won as Rome yet. Thus, not interested. Maybe afterwards.

Ad Gennosuke - Lol, I bet he knows, but I also hope you realise that SPQR is tailored to be played as Romans - therefore the whole game and all its settings is tweaked to play for Rome, if you play any other faction, the game is more or less "distorted" in certain issues (money income). Of course, you could mod it yourself as BiggBudd did, but what he calls for is a official version, more balanced, so you could play other factions (like in RS, for instance).

Of course it's fun to play as other factions especially against some advanced romans, come on.

This game maybe designed for Romans, but it isn't a cakewalk on vh/(m/h/vh) when playing other factions like some say. You should try yourself!

the reason why i start new campaigns is usually i get bored once I get into the late game i find things much less challenging and i like a challenge, so i restart my campaign after a while.

despite the awesomeness of the Imperial legions once i get them i find my self unstoppable, so thats another reason why i restart so i can have my pre-marius legions back, and give the AI a chance to beat me. it is a slim chance, but it happens, just check my AAR for an example of when i get beat.

Thx 4 your replies. And I agree with all post's, the Roman campaign is where it's at, however Ive been playing SPQR since the original, and ive finished several campaigns [not whole map ffs ive got a life too!], having taken europe and the med. Since Lt doesn't intend to make any more versions and SPQR is the best mod out there, to keep my interest Ive played a couple campaigns as other factions. And hence why ill would like an official version.
Most peeps here are still into there Roman campaigns, so at this time I wont be asking Lt for an update, however i will ask you lot again later when you too have exhausted the roman campaign and like me trued the "other" mods, and come bk to SPQR.

And ps, the ai cannot handle the roman faction, it cant destroy temples that give neg bonuses so cant expand much past its borders, forget about the " named" legions, it will build several "first" cohorts per stack, the loyalty penalties it cant handle to name a few. So anyone playing a faction other than Rome will never experience defending against the Roman empire cos it wont build 1!

@biggbudd i am not sure what to vote becous one part of me tells me this mod should stay roman becous first of all LT mad this mod in the way he plays it so this is a wish we need to respect. and there are a lot of mods that are balanced to play as the other factions that are in the game.

the other part of me tells me it could be fun playing as an other faction with the same difficultie level as when you play as romans. and i would like to see what tactics the roman ai would use when having republicans ore even imperial legions.

so for this i didn' t vote on the question you askt.

i like a non roman campaine so long it is no babarian faction i think the greek factions and Carthage that kind of factions

Yeah, all factions are interesting, but Romans are leading on this one. No other faction in game has the depth of Romans. Thus you should stick with them

I love SPQR as a Rome game, so my vote is no...

To play another faction i preffer some mod of RTW.

But honestly, some times i secretly desire to crush SPQR Legions
2 or 3 hours figthing against Fulminata and Augusta legions and crushing their first cohorts and taken the head of a Julii family member and ...............

I vote yes because sometimes the monotony of hours of fighting gallic stacks takes a toll on me so I prefer to take a break and get a breath of freshness. But I do always end up back on my Roman campaign
