Weirdest thing happened yesterday.
I was stopped in the street by some Mormons who tried to convert me to their faith. Thats not the odd part.
They were explaining that what I had to do to become sure of God's existance was to close my eyes and pray to him - and he would tell me he was there. I gently explained that I wouldn't be putting that much trust in voices I heard in my head and pointed out that if God wanted to make his existence apparent, he could have made the Bible less obscure and he could perform the odd small-scale miracle every now and then to drive the point home.
Anyway. We had a friendly chat and agreed to disagree.
I was in bed last night while my wife was brushing her teeth in the bathroom and I was telling her about the Mormon chat. I was just explaining about the 'prayer proof' and I closed my eyes and cupped my hands in a praying gesture for a second as I said it. At exactly the same moment, my wife's 'phone received a text message which lit up the darkened bedroom. It was from a colleague called Anna Lord.
Now a weaker-minded person might have taken that as a sign! I'd be lying if I said it didn't freak me out for a minute.
Should I be repenting?!
