Default Attacks, praise stretch truth at GOP convention

    ...Politicians, you gotta love 'em!

The one I found most humorous:
FORMER MASSACHUSETTS GOV. MITT ROMNEY: "We need change, all right — change from a liberal Washington to a conservative Washington! We have a prescription for every American who wants change in Washington — throw out the big-government liberals, and elect John McCain and Sarah Palin."
    ...I didn't know George W. Bush was a liberal?

Maybe God talked to him last night and told him to be one.
"oooh a gypsy wind is blowing warm tonight, sky is starlit and the time is right. Now you're telling me you have to go...before you do there's something you should know." - Bob Seger

Freedom is the distance between church and state.

Why are you surprised by that? Hell this forum should have indicated that (hell in this thread alone with the nonsense posts) indeed the diehards on both sides are equally stupid and conventions for both are full of the die hards. When you watch a convention you know you are watching bs so when you say "that was good" you know you are praising just how good the bs was.

lol! I thought at least the conservatives realised that the government for the last 8 years has been a conservative one.

Well technically its been 6 years since Dems have control house and senate for past 2 so that is *probably* what Romney is referring too but conventions are always loose with facts, lack substances and provide context. Of course Romney's argument falls on deaf ears given the excessive spending of Bush admin...which is NOT a conservative thing. Honestly there has been very little "conservative" about the Bush admin atleast conservatism that isnt of the neocon variety but its a moot point arguing that. Only value of watching convention really is to hear the nomination's speech...everything else is just going to focus on praising the nomination or attacking the opposite. Sometimes there are exceptions of course.

Of course he is. The US government under an all Republican-dominated Congress was more liberal than the liberals themselves, practically.

Republicans only appeal to "family values" and "conservative principles" and claim to be "fiscal conservatives" only when it's election time, or they're not the majority.
