Why would it recognize Taiwan when Taiwan will not Recognize PRC. Both claim they are the sole legit government of the whole of china still so the comparison is not valid.... Now if you said Tibet that would been different.

I am sure it already is - Nicaragua was an ally of the USSR in the cold war and has never been pro American, especially after the USA overthrew the socialist government in the early 1980's.
