Turkish Wars part II: Eastern Offensive

Soon after the walls were rebuilt scouts reported an army heading for the castle.
After setting up a small garrison Konstantinos took his army in the field and pushed towards enemy forces.

Both armies were pretty much the same size with 1700 men on each side. Konstantinos ordered his troops to attack at night hoping that his archers and catapults would cause panic among enemy ranks.

Awards: the winners qualify for the AAR Competition Medal. The medal will be awarded according to the following schedule:
6 points - bronze medal
12 points - silver medal

The Fall of the Ruling Dynasty

At the council it was agreed. Georgia had to pay. The Ayyubid matter was to dealt with another time. The Georgian kingdom will pay for what they did to our noble lord. At the council every strategos and general was present. The body of the great emperor had been buried like Christian customs and it was housed in a mausoleum. It would stay there until the great church of saint Zigavinos would be finished. Then it would be laid to rest in the church of his fellow name holder. We gave our emperor the honourary title saint and magnus or the great. As it was he who stopped the collapse of the Roman Empire and gave it again it's ancient glory. It is said that Pelekanos Solomon hanged himself when he heard the news of the dead of his friend. Wishing to serve him in the afterlife. Eitherway the great horse commander Pelekanos died in Ani still waiting for orders of the Emperor.

Captain Carolus was still on his mission as the Turks had besieged Tarsus. But thanks to Carolus' speed the Turks were beaten and driven out of our lands. But Carolus was still hot on their trail eager to finish the old archenemy of our empire for good. The Imperators and the rest of the chief Roman military were catching up and told each other their stories and experiences. Every time the stories were bigger and the experiences more death escaping. But nevertheless they al liked seeing their old friends. However in the corner two men stood. They were new but they had shown courage on the battlefield. It were me and my best friend Ammonios Palaeologus

The plans were made and the Legions were ordered to muster at the Citadel of Aleppo. Every man would take the army that had served under him with him to their new target. First the plan was to muster at the Eufrates but due to increased Georgian acivity at the borders this plan was given up and Aleppo was chosen. However as good as it all would seem. Efstathios time as emperor ended as sudden as it began. The new emperor was going to get his army from the hills of northern Cilica where he had fortified his army when he was ambushed. He couldn't escape and he tried to fight a way through the Georgian lines but it had no use. The newly appointed emperor died after being twelve days in the seat of Imperial power.

The new emperor, He had served in the army of his father. The only son of the great general. It was the son conceived at the wedding night. It was the one who choosed to serve under his father's army as an officer of the heavy swordsmen. It was I Constantine Basilacius, son of Draganos Basilacius. The only Basilaciusian boy who actually had blood of the great grandfather in his veins.

After hearing the news of my uncle's death my grandmother according to rumors died out of sorrow. My father, Draganos the builder, didn't forbade me to become emperor seeing what happenend to his brother he simply asked if he could be fired out of the army. He didn't want to serve anymore. There were lots of more talented generals and he prefered to govern a city. I made him governor of Jerusalem. And with his departure, the last of the generals who fought in the war against the Turks under Emperor Saint Zigavinos the Great had left the militairy. The top of the Roman military now existed out of the noble council of senators and the new generals. I tasked my good friend Ammonios to take the open position in my father's army.

My first act as the new Augustus was to send a letter to the Mekurian king.

Betrayed!! : A Spanish AAR

Description: The kingdom of León is in a desperate situation as it tries to repel the Moorish invasion from the south. They offer the Portuguese king a pregnant sum and regular tribute to attack the Moors from the other direction. Oporto agrees, and the Spanish feel confident of their security. But suddenly, on a silent night, the Portuguese attack every region of their domains, killing everyone and and pillaging everything. They are trying to enter in the very king's room, striking its door with some kind of object. León is betrayed!

After putting his armor on, Enrique el Caballeroso headed to the courtyard of his palace in León. Once he appeared in the yard, his men began to chorus the Leonese slogan. "¡Por Santiago y por el Rey! ¡Viva el rey Enrique, viva León y Castilla!" It was a wonderfull sight for the king, all those brave and loyal men yelling all at once, like if they were a giant. Enrique rode his horse and took his sword and then he said this to his men: "¡Hoy partimos a restaurar el honor que los viles portugueses han mancillado, honor de todo Leonés y todo Castellano, mi honor y el vuestro, y el de nuestros hijos! ¡Su rey, al frente de dos ejércitos aguarda en la ribera norte del Duero, cerca de nuestro arrebatado fuerte! ¡Dios, que nos guía siempre, ha marcado ese lugar como el de la batalla que habrá de designar al vencedor de esta contienda! ¡Por Dios, por León, por Castilla!" "¡Vivaaa! ¡Viva el Rey!" (Dramatization )

After the speech, all the troops departed to confront the enemy army.



And the King of Portugal, after the battle, was lying in the field, under his horse, surrounded with many Leoneses. The Leonese army had no more than 20% casualties, and so the brave soldiers won the battle and killed the evil and treacherous king who betrayed and dishonoured them.

There's is no mercy for traitors, but it is a king who sins, and not his people. The captured men were released. After that battle, the king leaded his army to beat the rest of the invading portuguese force, winning again with few losses. It was time to return to León to finish the job. While they were out, a portuguese army returning from the crusades besieged León. Then, gathering all the troops in the surroundings, the King Enrique fought his last battle before his death, two years later. There is no need to say that he won, and broke the portuguese armies. In fact, his son, the prince, had inflicted equally important losses in the south, near Toledo, to the portuguese. After this short war, a diplomat from León achieved a peace and established trade rights again. But the offense should never be forgotten. Revenge would imply to take every portuguese settlement.

Now, there is a crusade in march, and the portuguese are in it. The leonese are resting and filling their vaults again. War will come. First, Portugal. Later, Andalucía.

Prelude
The year is 1242 , the baltic kingdoms have been at war for many years . The allied kingdoms of Poland and the Teutonic order is strong and the two of them are the powerhouses of the baltic lands .

Their enemies , the pagan lithuanians a barbaric people with the goal to slaughter all who oppose them , the mighty people of the Rus a powerhouse of the northern baltic lands holding the biggest territories making them the biggest rival against the allied kingdoms.

To the east lies the Cumans , warrior-nomads which fight alongside whomever has got the most florins .

In the past year of 1240 ad , the three factions had been at war with eachother creating chaos in the baltics and making it easy for the allied kingdoms of Poland & the Teutonic order .

However , Cyril Vladimirovich the grand duke of Novgorod held a secret meeting with the Lithuanians & the Cumans in an attempt to forge a coalition against the two allied kingdoms .

Algirdas , the king of Lithuania saw this as a great potential of crushing the allied kingdoms and restoring Lithuania , The Cuman Tartar king Temujin accepted this in return for 30% of the looting .

The Coalition had been completed in 1241 , The kings mobilized their armies , The lithuanian king & his prince Gôstautas moved out of Vilnius with a grand army , The king was in charge of the cavalry & his prince in charge of the Lithuanian elite infantry .

The Prince of Novgorod Borislav got in charge of his fathers elite army of Novgorod , consisting of experienced veterans with the latest armour and weapons.

The Cuman King Temujin took his nomad tartars with him.

In the year 1242 , the three armies had gathered up outside of Plock in polish lands , The polish heir Nazimsko had his army deployed in Plock in defense against the many lithuanian armies trying to capture it .

The Teutonic general Hans was also deployed in the area to help the polish prince .

The two allied armies were the only forces on the frontline defending the precious kingdoms of Poland & Teuton.

The Two armies was notified that four big armies advanced towards Plock , they merged together immediately and met the coalition armies just east of Plock ,,, the battle of the baltics has begun ...



It was a sunny day in the polish fertile lands , the armies glazed at eachother while they were deploying , the calm before the storm.

The polish prince deployed upon a hill , depending on his archers & spearmen in this battle . Deploying stakes on the hill so that no cavalry may charge and kill him.



The teutonic general Hans deployed to the east of the polish prince , depending on his pikes and cavalry in this battle.



The Lithuanian king deployed his cavalry army in the center of the battlefield , opposite of the teutonic army .
Depending on his brave nobles to win this battle for him .

The New Era

Summer, 1282 AD -

The Scottish conflict is over, Magnus reigns as King of both Scotland and Norway, his empire stretches over most of Scandinavia to the Orkney Isles, this is the Norwegian peoples golden age. Further south the Baron's Alliance has rebelled against the English crown, Magnus has quickly moved to agree an alliance with the English rebels.



The former Scottish stronghold of Aberdeen still defies Norwegian rule and is a final bastion of Scottisn nationalism and rebellion, Magus having already broken the Scottish forces decides to use the soft hand of diplomacy, within days Aberdeen is handed over for a chest of gold.



One of Eystein's captains has been promoted and adopted into his family, he has proven himself on the battlefield time and again, he is the head of Eystein's personal bodyguard, Grim Hviid's loyality is beyond question, he is ready to lead Norways troops.



New has reached Magnus that Edward, Heir to the English throne has returned from the crusades, he's battle hardened and ready to crush the alliance of baron's, his father is on his deathbed and it won't be long before Edward becomes King, he has been granted Templar forces to bring back with him from the holy land, a quick resolution could be in order for the rebellion.



With the English involved in a civil war, Magnus has thrown his support behind the Baron's under the impression they would offer him the crown for his armies to aid them against Edward, he dispatches Burislev Storegaard and Grim Hviid to invade England by land and sea, Grim takes his troops across land to cross the border near Newcastle, Burislev will board the longships and land near the English capital of Lancaster which is already underseige by Baron's Alliance forces.

Chapter Six- The High Kingdom of Ireland

The snow had stopped falling a few moments ago on the fridged feild before King Brian and his men as they prepared the ram. The King scowled at the city of Exter and his teeth chattered and his body shivered.

" I hate cold." He whisped to himself as he looked up at the sky. There were dark clouds forming in the sky The King saw it as the perfect moment to srike and so he took his horse and trotted before the men.

"You, are the first force that will invade the Kingdom of England. And so I believe we should have something fitting to show we are better than those English madras!" He was yelling at the top of his lungs now with all his troops cheering. "And so from now and forever! We shall be called the High Kingdom of Éire!!!" With that all of his troops began cheering and cursing at the English who were atop the city walls. King Brian realized the momentum and pulled his horse high in the air and he raised his sword and yelled, " Ionsaigh!!!" And so the ram pushed foreward and after only fifteen minuted they had battered down the walls.

When the gates broke King Brian waved his sword as if saying move out! And so the soldier ran to the gates with Brian in tow. The King looked up to a barrage of Arrow coming at him. The King jerked his horse abrutly to the side. But with the extra strength adrenaline agive his he fell clean off his horse. The Horse ran in fear. The looked up at Bressal who had come over to the king.

"Sir!" Bressal spoke with fear that the King had died. But The King with as stern look on his face.

"Bressal you're in command now! I will fight on foot with the Gallo." The King said as he unsheathed a sword and he was off and through the gates.

Bressal nodded his head as the king was off and he turned to the High King's guard who looked in awe. "Well? What are you waiting for?! Move!" He yelled at the troops who immediatly galloped foreward. It felt good to be in charge the Bressal thought smiling.

High King Brian ran through the gates to find Irish forces ripping appart the English spearmen both at the gates, and atop the walls. The King Grinned as he rushed into the fray. He found a spearman and he raised his blade. The Spearman raised his sheild in defense only to see brian stabb the man through the gut. Brian ripped his blade from the mans gut only to grabb the lifeless corpse by the hair and he cut the head off. He threw the head at the another spearmen who fell to the ground in shock of this gruesome sight the king rushed to the man. When he reach the man he had dropped his sheild The King smiled and he stabbed his blade into the man's neck, killing him instantly. The adrenaline of battle caused the King to look around intentively to find his next victem. Instantly he found another blade which he claimed in his open hand. Then he found an open spearman whom he too rushed. The man turned to see the King, he rose his sheild in defense only to have the High King jump on top of the sheild causeing the man to fall. The King kicked away the sheild and used both his blades to to ctabb the man's heart.

By now The King's armour and blades were covered in blood. Upon seeing all of the carnage the High King alon haddone in a matter of five minutes the english withdrew. The King Smiled and ran atop a pile of courpses and yelled, "Slaughter them!" And with that Bressal and the rest of the guard trample the running english beneeth their horse's hooves.

Bressal laughed as they trampled running English. Then he saw The english general. He was dressed in polished armour and was sitting atop his horse very proudly as they trotted foreward, even though all of his forces had been completely destroied. Bressal grinned at the oppertunity to kill a respected English General.

" Kill them!!!" Bressal yelled pointing his blade tword the English man. And so the entire charged them men. Killing the General an all of his guard in one minute.


And so the Invasion of England begins...........

The AAR I Chose my Story to be on is Lithuania and their Struggles against the Christian Kings and Kingdoms of Europe, and the Papacy of Rome. Lithuania is a Pagan Kingdom Surrounded by Christian countries. This AAR will start off as a Migrating AAR, it will then be an in-depth turn for turn AAR will I will make a story about every Alliance, War, and Event that happens in my campaign to destroy the Papacy. I hope to start the story as being a Horde and end as an empire of all nations. This will be a very long AAR and I will walk thru each turn I make.

The Battle For Visby

Before the Battle for Visby and the start of the new Kingdom King Mindaugas Unhealthy and now middle aged after 6 years of looking for a new start musters the strength to Speak to his men out side the gates of Visby.

We are farmers from the plateaus, woodsman from the forest,shopkeepers, Fathers, brothers,uncles, and Sons. But the Papal States and there puppet kingdoms do not care. The only care about power and greed. They wish to make the Church OF ROME a God Not God himself. They see me as a outsider even though my own son vaisuilkas is a Christian. But they do not care they want us to follow there rules or perish under there sword!!. They Call them Selfs the Children of light, So lets make them Scared of what goes Bump in the night!!! Children of Lithuanian, Sons of Vilnius!!!! . To Battle!!!! Let these Vikings feel the Wrath the Papal States will one day come to fear. The monster They have created THE HEATHENS and Its King Mindaugas Leader of THE HEATHENS!!!!!!



The Speech is Received with a Great Roar and the king orders the farmers to rush there Siege Rams into the wall and Horse archers to cover the Attack



After the walls fall the peasants retreat to the rear and the Baltic Supermen clash with the Vikings



The attack of the spear man Rout the vikings to the center of the city and the spear men give chase.



Seeing a opportunity to flank the Vikings in the city King Mindaugas orders, Prince Vaisuilkas to take Baltic axemen and Viking mercs around and Flank the enemy
