    Default Ancillary Question

Is there a way to delete a character's ancillaries? I know you can transfer the retinue between family members, but most of my family members already have eight and i want to get rid of the crappy ones.(like the pet hunting dog....woof!)

Also, an unrelated question. Can you attempt assassinations on your own family members? One of my better generals has the "Careless" trait and I don't like it.

you can't kill your own family - you'll need to play medieval I - total war for that

I don't want to kill him. I want to have a failed attempt or two so he isn't so "Careless" anymore

Well, if you have a bunch of useless ancillaries and a useless or really really old family member you can transfer all the crappy ancillaries to the bad/old guy and either have him make a heroic charge into a phalanx or just send him off to be a scout in the northern reaches of Siberia. Both should help your problem. Other than that I don't think you can delete or get rid of them.

Easiest way and fastest way I can think of to get rid of really bad family members is to get/build your cheapest ship and load them all on to a trip to the middle of the Mediterranean. I'm sure some lucky vessel will come along to relieve you of your woes of black sheeps in the family.

I use suicidal cavalry charges, myself. The navy option works fine, too. It's just more expensive.

Yeah that's true. Using the cavalry option will be useful on the battlefield as an expendable cavalry unit. Only problem I could think of was the morale loss when your general dies. But it shouldn't affect your troops too bad if your fighting with an over-powering force. But hey, each option works when you get down to it, its just how your family members go out in style.

What makes you think that I'm sending any backup for the cavalry charge?

I always use this kind of general to scourge into an enemy territory, just fight as far as he can get with a crappy army, best scenario he makes a mess inside the enemy territory, even conquer a city or two, and just decimate the population then leave the city to the wolfs... or worst scenario he dies with glory

    Win win situation I believe

True that. Good way to scout out the strength of the enemy and disrupt their immediate plans also.
