For the past couple of years I have been playing my beloved Rome Total War on my old, old laptop.
Now my laptop could barely run Rome Total War, but a large fan, a lot of file compression and pressing the laptop power lead into the laptop (did I mention the power lead for my laptop coughed and died, and since I have used my mothers laptop lead, which really does not help over heating) but
I still played Rome and its various mods.
Until I recently helped a friend install Medieval Total War II.
On his top of the range PC, that his brother had made - for £400 (his brother studies computers engineering at Uni.)
Now, we tried to push this system to the limit...all settings on high we had a large battle, 7 full stack armies, a siege with a level 3 citadel.
No lag, what so ever.
Now to my poor yokel eyes, and brain, this was incredible!
Grass Detail Settings High??!?!
Needless to say, I have fallen in love with vanilla Medieval Total War II, and I have commission his brother to construct me one of his mighty machines and should be having a brand new desktop within three months,
for £360.
But I know vanilla version of Total War games are buggy and less then historically accurate, for purpose of appealing to a larger audience - but I would like to know a couple of things from the forums;
Should I get Medieval Kingdoms?
And what Mod should I download in advanced? (not that I will install the mod straight away of course)
Thank you, and sorry about the excessively long question, needless to say im in extreme ecstasy!
