I guess this was an error occurs when the data can not be read from the disc.
But I'm not very into this stuff, I might be wrong too.

Can you install the game on another computer with it? Mine are as old as the game release. They might be beyond the "worked before" point and need to be replaced.

Download CDCheck and run it on the problem disc, and it will install fine AP.

Yeah, this happened to me (same error), and I found out it was that the computer I was installing on, which I had never installed RTW on before, had a disc drive that was way to slow.

I have a beautiful old rpg game (Arcanum) which I can't istall anymore, just because of that same problem. (Don't lend your CDs to anyone I'm telling you, They're most likely to return scratched or damaged.)

Have you tried cdcheck yourself or waiting for someoneelse to do the legwork for you? The link's posted in the post above it. I'd say no news is good news.

I have tried it irishron and it keeps giving me the same result. That is why i'm asking. And why is it that if people don't have the answer to the question they always have a smart thing to say. I thought you were suppoused to help each other. Is this cdcheck suppoused to fix the problem because all it's doing is telling me what the problem and I know that already.

In your very first post you complained that no-one was helping you or that we couldn't help you fix whatever problem you had.

We rely on you giving us symptoms of what is wrong. If you supply wrong or misleading information then the advice we can give is compromised. In your posts you've claimed that you have the same problem - that is all we know.

We are only users of the same software that you are trying to run. We are trying to help based on the experience we have in similar situations.

    Now....

    1) Do you own an original copy of RTW?
    2) What version of the game do you have?
    3) Is any surface of a disc scratched or not clean?
    4) Can you use the disc to install on a different PC?
