meh, his loss if he can`t enjoy SPQR

Really man, not everyone likes the same things and that`s okay.

I do however feel criticism should be given in a positive way, but meh.
People will believe a lie because they want it to be true; or they're afraid it's true.
Given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe its true, or because they're afraid it might be true. Peoples' heads are full of knowledge, facts and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.

Heh, even if SPQR was cheesy (which it is not) the mod just looks so damn good. It's like playing Medieval II, but...it like, doesn't suck.

    Game of the Fates
Mod of the week on hold -- I've played nearly every RTW mod out there.
BOYCOTT THE USE OF SMILEYS! (Okay, just once)

I've returned--please forgive my long absence.

i also don't understand how it comes that SPQR TW has such a small comunity, while RS, RTR and EB are so big mods full of people.....

ah, this is another charm of SPQR TW

Ya and most of the people who quit probably aren't use to it being difficult. They just want to steamroll over everything and can't do that here.

i agree it is very uncalled for to say such things about this mod, however i dont see the need to open up a hate thread against whoever said it. it would have been better to have just reported the guys post as a flame, troll, or spam. (since it probaly was)

To answer a bit, mods like EB, RS and such as mentioned above, they do tend to have one extra thing over SPQR. They develop on large scale, while trying to incorporate massive amounts of feedback into the mod, and they take the ideas and work from huge base of fans and developers, while SPQR was created by a single man to HIS point of view, and somehow ended up on current version 6.4, while being, from what I can tell, pretty rigid about any development, besides SFA and FDS, nothing really moves it further.
Im not a fan of all-time never ending attempts to improve the mod, but yet, it seems vast majority of other people are such fans, so they stick with mods that do offer them this. My opinion.

Agreed. I find that paticularly true with RTR. The mod is good as is. I don't see why they insist on making RTR7. If they were to transfer over to M2TW for improved graphics I could see that, but imo they;ve maxed out what they can do.

I am really impressed with this game and my son loves it too bits and it has made RTW which in my opinion the best Total War game, more superb

YOU have to remember for alot of modders, modding becomes addictive. Hence why they keep adding more and more when there is little improvement. EB, RTR, should be done by now, they both have been in production for the same amount of time as SPQR and yet they are never finished.

SPQR will have a new Version with the Superfaction fix as soon as I can adjust the Map, to me that is reason to release a NEW mod Version. Otherwise SPQR is done because there is NOTHING left to do really.

As to imput from the Fans, boy if any were there about 3 years ago or even 2 I was asking imput all the time, and ALOT of great ideas were added as I wanted to improve my game also. It just that the Mod was made for me and my style and NOT just for the fans, after all when I made SPQR there were no fans. lol

I was wanting to SHARE my version of what I thought RTW should have been like and I think I accomplished that well. There are others that agree and like my mod and I am happy some get enjoyment out of it, its human nature to share and give.

As for why they have more Fans, who knows? But that was NEVER a priority for SPQR since it was made for me and others that like my style of play. For other mods it was important hence the Campaigns for making sure the Mods were put in magazines etc, even though they werent finsihed. At one Time SPQR was so popular that it really could of had Magazine coverage and Helped keep TWC afloat for a while during the ruff times as the other mods had internal issues.

SPQR has done its bit for King and Country, and I think all the other Modders and old time forumers know this, they may not like SPQR style of play but they still see that SPQR did it bit.

Ahhh, he obviously forgets how popular SPQR is. It has been mentioned in gaming magazines and Germans websites, last I checked.

Im a fan of SPQR from long time ago, but im not active on the community, cause i'm limmited by my poor english

I played a lot of mods, and every one has some thing especial, but SPQR it's not a simple mod to me, cause for me it's a game about Rome, not a mod from RTW...

SPQR it's a great game not a great mod thats the diference

But for most of the people SPQR it's to difficult, and they don't wan't to play for mont's or years like us (i forgot when i started to play my campaign :hmmm: and no idea if i will finish some day )

Sorry for my english, it's the best i can do

    Bye
