Default An interesting point about Palin

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/0..._n_122776.html

Early on in the conversation before Palin started to crack up, Lester referred to Sen. Green as a jealous woman and a cancer. Palin, who knows full well Lyda Green is a cancer survivor, didn't do what any decent person would do, say, "Bob, that's going too far."
But as the conversation moved on, Lester intensified his attack on Green.

Lester questioned Green's motherhood, asking Palin if the senator cares about her own kids. Palin laughs.

Then Lester clearly sets the stage for what he is about to say by warning his large audience and Palin. He says, "Governor you can't say this but I will, Lyda Green is a cancer and a b----." Palin laughs for the second time.

What were teenage boys thinking when they heard the governor laugh at someone being called a b----? How about the teenage girls who look up to Palin. What did they think when they heard her laugh?

But there is more. Lester then describes Green's chair as big and cushy. A clear reference to the senator's weight. Palin laughs a third time. She's just having a grand old time.

Palin was clearly enjoying every second of Lester's vicious attack on her political rival.

I would have no qualms of telling a shock-jock to stfu.

She released a statement later, but really, are you supposed to laugh at this kind of crap?

Can we atleast gear the attacks towards beliefs? I mean if you were familiar enough with Obama and Biden's stances, and McCain for that matter, you'd think you could atleast put up peices that point out number one she's wrong and number two why. Hell maybe you'd even beable to open up a thread based on principle. Can you? Of course not, you probably are incapable of doing so. In return what do we get? Stupid like this.
Sure I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is Im not. I honestly feel that America is the best country and all other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

My PREDICTION: FOX won't air this.

My opinion: no politician should try and do this, it's without integrity you would go onto a show and laugh at stuff like that. Hold personal integrity of both you and your opponent and maybe your party's integrity will hold.

I recognize the vehemence of your post, and share it's vitriol in many ways.

Principles translate to conduct. Thank you.

I think her response was perfectly legit. She laughed because it was exactly that, crap.

Just goes to show how worried those on the left are about Palin considering the sheer amount of crap to come out in just 2 days. Dont think there has a been a vp pick that has caused so much concern....its almost funny. News flash Governor Palin laughs....it wasnt exactly haha that was funny laugh but rather cant believe he said that laugh and she said "no" right after. Clicked on the link to listen it....much to do about nothing.

based on? Your survey and statistical expertise or what you hear from someone else?

My opinion: no politician should try and do this, it's without integrity you would go onto a show and laugh at stuff like that. Hold personal integrity of both you and your opponent and maybe your party's integrity will hold.
Do what? You kow no more about the details than I do.

It's intereseting the reaction to Palin, you didn't see this with Cheney.

In fact I will make a prediction, based on my own statistical experitise and the law of standad normal distributions and that is, you are unlikely to make a thread about Biden and Vietnam deferments.

That is exactly what it is and it's wonderful. While i'm not the biggest supporter of McCain by any means, even turned down a personal offer by them for a campaigning position locally, I like her alot. And if this sets up a future run and the libs are scared, i'm all on board.

Thing is they should wait to see if she is actually worth being worried about....instead of running the risk of it coming off as pure smear campaign. Guess as the saying goes people have a fear of the unknown and she is unknown. Thing is Presidents rarely win elections based on who their vp is so I dont even get all the hype.

That's why this is one is interesting though, isn't it?

    A woman vp?

Meh, could be worse. Could be Quayle.

EDIT: and for extra clarification. I don't mean this thread to be a vote-turning one, I said interesting and I mean it. Simply... interesting. That is all. No further rhetoric or endorsing who to vote for. Just sayin...

    Give me a ing break.

Its the Internet based Fox News for the Left. Anything coming out of there will instantly raise flags for me.

When I see this on FOX I'll retract my prediciton. I'll admit I'm wrong.

Based on what I've seen from FOX (limited), and what I've seen from the Republican Party (limited) and what I've seen from Palin (limited), I doubt we'll see something like this come up on FOX.

I'm reminded of the mafia actually. Reminded of the interesting fact that even the Italian women of the mafia can be just as bloodthirsty as the men.

If they try to spin her as humane, adding some kind of feminist thing to the election, this here clearly does not prove it.

If Biden did something as unprofessional as this, I would comment, perhaps more unlikely I would post it first. So what do you want? And admission of that?

I have much admiration for Palin herself, her family especially, and dislike it very much that anyone should comment about them, especially that whole child thing. I'm happy she didn't make an exception to abort her Down's Syndrome child.

But excuse me, you seem to be interrupting me from my tree-hugging...

    I'll think not.

I've had enough of the virulent -slinging Partisanship that's come up in the last few years.

They're not the best investment these days from a long term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward. They're in the housing market. I do think their prospects going forward are very solid."

@jp and joker It does smell like fear-- fear hidden by obscene pride and masterful manipulation of the dumbest part of our population.

but the idiots are on our side this time boys. woooohooooo

and seriously I love to see who supports mccain on these forums I find it quite interesting though I have argued with most of you; the commonality between those that support mccain and those that support obama.

    Again... "interesting"

Not.... "pivotal" or "OMG Jesus Freakin' Christ!" but "interesting".

It could be however, more "opportunity missed" than anything else.
