When you say "imported into BI", did you copy and paste the extracted
ExRM folder into
Rome - Total War/BI, or into
Rome - Total War? If it was the first option, then I'm afraid that was wrong. Your file structure should be
Rome - Total War/ExRM. It sounds as though you've pasted it in the wrong location.
If you have overwritten the data folders in either the
BI or
Rome - Total War folders then you are going to have to uninstall and reinstall the game afresh.
Once you've reinstalled
Rome, unpack the
ExRM3.2.rar onto the desktop - copy the
ExRM folder - and paste it into the
Rome - Total War folder.
Once you have those files in place you can then create the Desktop shortcut to start the game. To create the shortcut, first right-click on the
Rome TW-BI.exe file, in the
Rome - Total War folder - then select
Send To/Desktop.
Then go the shortcut that you have just created on the Desktop and right click on it. Go to the
Target field and add
-show_err -nm -mod:ExRM at the end of the line, after the quote marks (make sure that you have a space between the quote marks and the
-show_err -nm -mod:ExRM).
