Is it possible to add units from Americas to Vanilla?

I was thinking of beefing up the Aztecs. Is there a way to add their new units from Kingdoms to vanilla?

Yes, this is possible. Open up mods/americas/data/descr_strat.txt. Copy & paste everything you want into data/descr_strat.txt. Make sure to delete duplicate entries.

Is that it? I would have assumed that there would have been a problem with assigning which buildings they were assigned to and so on?

You're right, editing export_descr_units.txt would only add the units for costum battles. If you want to train them in the campaign, you have to edit export_descr_buildings.txt as well. In each building entry, you will see some lines under the barracks which allow the recruitment of soldiers. You could copy those entries and just change the unit names. Just give me a bit and I'll post more complete instructions.

Um, IIRC the Aztecs don't get any new units in the Americas campaign.

Anyhow, to add in new units you'll have to edit the export_descr_units, the battle_modelsDB, and copy over the models and textures. Er, it's best if you look around for the tutorial on this in the modding section.
