Default What happened to men falling off the walls? And being able to swim across rivers?

In RTW and BI during siege battles when the fighting took to the battlements I noticed men would fall to their deaths, either by bad luck or getting pushed. Corpses would sometimes also fall.

And during river battles, light units could swim across the river. Bodies would also often fall in, causing their death if they could not swim, as well as corpses.

Why isn't this in M2TW? Albeit they are fairly minor features, but they added to the coolness nonetheless.

    Agreed.

Although it always felt bad when a Praetorian First Cohort fell to his death.

For real? Thats a cool feature I think I can understand why they took swimming out but I would love to see guys beeing pushed of the wall. In that way it wouldn,t take DFK 5 minutes to kill some peasant. They could then just push em of the walls.
PS: Ive you destroy a ladder the falling ladder can kill people.

Actually the whole falling off the wall was actually an error in CAs code, it would happen only with certain size walls, using the corresponding towers. The reason was that the distance from the tower to the wall when the tower would stop to attack was incorrectly coded, so men could fall between the drawbridge of the tower and the wall.

You're thinking of a different thing - what I think was a tower bug in M2TW.

They're talking about a cool feature / effect in RTW that many of us liked (and miss).

Never seen that before. But I was talking about actual fighting on the ramparts. Men would be pushed off and fall to their untimely deaths. Corpses would also fall.

ya and falling walls would actualy crush characters to, i played metw2 before rtw so i was surprised when giant stone walls killed my men when they collapsed. i enjoyed details like these that are absent in metw2. i noticed one time though when i had multiple stacks going through a siege tower that collapsed due to too many men, but thats the only thing metw2 really keeps to detail on.

Yeah I forgot about that one as well. When I smash their walls down with my basilisks the men foolish enough to stand right behind them should be crushed.

    Or on them...
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)
