AI not attacking

hi,

I am currently plaing SS 6.1, but im also playing the americas campagin on kingdoms. Whenever an enemy attacks my settlement and i choose the fight on battlefield option, the attacking army drops all their siege equipment and just stands there. This happens in all the campagins no matter which faction i choose. I dont like choosing the timed battled option because I want to play the full battle. If anyone has a patch that fixes this problem for kingdoms and/or SS please post it for me. Any help is appericated.

I just fought battle against the English, they used a Trebuchet to knock holes in my wall, sent some Infantry and Cavarly thru. Then they took some ladders to a different wall and climbed that, at least some of them. They left 4 Units of Heavy Horse behind the Trebuchet and did not move. Fancy having that muscle and not using it. Duly they were timed out and lost.
