I am an Obama supporter, first and foremost. Rabid liberals, do not use this thread to drool about how the campaign is historic. I know it's 'historic.' I don't care.

I'm sick of this trend in politics and everything, really. Every headline is 'Obama makes historic speech.' Or 'Historic campaign.' Now with Sarah Palin as VP the 'historic!!!' crowd got another boost. I can't wait to see the brilliant politcal commentator that says 'no matter what, we're getting a minority in the White House.'

It is historic for both parties, since we are talking about the first president candidate who has a darker skin than the previous ones and the first woman vice president ever in US history, and beside those they want you to click on the links on their websites and tune to their channels.

Yeah, especially when you see that Obama's foreign policy is virtually identical to McCain's, which is very similar to Bush's.

I think Obama is now being found out on the whole "inspirational speaker" thing as well. He does often sound quite inspirational, but when he has no auto cue and is answering questions off the top of his head he stumbles as badly as Bush does.

They were both historic events ... and it was not long ago that this would never have been possible. What remains to be seen if it can really happen ... I am shocked daily by the venom that comes out of some people ... I know people that seriously think Obama is the anti-christ ... and these are people that I think very highly of in all other respects. Main point is that we have along way to go.
