Default idx and dat problem in sounds folder

I dont know why this happened but my game cant recreate the events,,sfx, voice, music idx and dat files properly in the sounds folder.Im running SS 6.1 and there was no problems before, i deleted them and they were recreated and it adjust to the new sounds and music i changed but now it doesnt work. All it can give me is 1KB files and now i have no SFX or Voices. The back up files disappeared on me and i cant get the game to recreate IDX and DAT files properly on any other mod or even in the vanilla folder.
    Any ideas or solutions?

I had a problem with my pc and had roxio hardware for sound system. It caused the game, in all its variants to crash so I had to delete the contents of all sound and music files and the games are now playable without problem. OK no sounds but get good gaming. Note had no problems with other games. Hope this information is of some use.

Are you running Vista? Vista stores some mod files as "compatibility files" elsewhere. Do a search on these forums and you'll find a solution to find and access these files...if you're running vista that is
