    Default Mercenaries problem !

    i've added some units in merc pools, to battle_models.db everythings its fine, but i've some odd problems !!

    1) if i only make "merc" entries in battle_models and descr_mercenaries everything runs fine in battle (models, correct captain), but this don't show up the tga's (only shows the generic).

    2) if i added the mercenary_unit in EDU on the units, this ill show the tgas on campaign_map recruitment section, but in battle this don't show the correct captain model of the faction (right units, but wrong captain)

    what can i do to show the correct captain model for each faction when using merc's ?? :hmmm:

    If everything is fine at step 1 then you can just add the TGA's to units and unit_info in the UI folder. Copy them from an existing faction that has the units you've added and paste them to the merc and mercs folders.

    well thats the odd part, because i did that and this isn't showing the tga's instead this show the generic tga :hmmm:

    That is odd because it seems to work fine for me...
    What testing have you done thats given you the wrong captain?

    If you create a new unit (which a new mercenary unit is) you need to create the unit info card as well as the unit card.
    data\ui\unit_info\merc and data\ui\units\mercs folder is were all these tgas are.

    i've added the tgas on

    /merc
    /mercs
    /milan

    since milan also owns and recruits this unit and still ...

    Well to help with the captain, a mercenary unit's captain always uses the mercenary captain anim. The game will only read TGAs from the UI/unit_info/merc folder and the UI/unit_info/mercs folder for mercenary units.

    What I'm saying is that there is no need to place the unit info cards in mercs and milan folders and there is no need to place the unit cards into the merc and milan folders. The unit using the mercenary captain instead of regular is unfixable. Sorry for the lack of clarity.

    yes i know, thats a shame , this totally screws my idea for my mercenaries concept
