Would you be any less scared? Would you view the "ghost" as a very real, product of the Earth's energy field on all things composed of matter, would you suddenly feel "comfortable" with them? Even accepting?

Note, this is not a topic asking if they exist or not. This scenario only applies of ghosts/apparitions were proven beyond shadow of reasonable doubt, through science, to exist.

lol at this thread but if they were proven real I do not think they would care about their rights. I mean, they are dead and in Heaven or that other place.
Ghosts would still scare out of me if I saw one, unless it was really friendly. Like my grandma's ghost. f course there would also be a few ethical questions about ghosts, i.e., who has the right to see somebody's dead grandson, etc.
Needless to say that that would be pretty cool indeed if someone proved that ghosts were real.

Dead yes but heaven no.
A ghost is a spirit unable to rest because it left something undone before it died, like asking for forgiveness or revenge or what ever.
So they aren't in heaven or hell, they are sorta stuck in the real world.

So if ghost were to be proven real we wouldn't have to worry about them demanding equal rights.
We would however no doubt see a rise in help centers for the dead to help them move on.
That's until we got some extreme religious group demanding that all life is sacred and the help centers are conducting assisted suicide despite the fact that their clients are already dead.

as long as they were just apparitions and not anything actually thinking or anything all would be cool -- im sure eventually science will find a fully verifiable answer to why people see ghosts.


this just in -- people are full of . they probably see them because of a chemical imbalance or energetic influence on the brain.

I would be less scared. Most fear is fear of the unknown, but if ghosts are proven to be real, there is one more known factor, therefore one less thing to be afraid of.

Afterall, how many people are constantly expecting to get a friendly report on how their recently deceased mother is doing in the afterlife? Noone (sane). If we believe in ghosts, chances are we are afraid a vengeful ghoul with a scary face is going to jump out at us in the night, instead of the former.

There would be like phonecards for "The Next World" ... and then we would be all asking them about lotery and stuff and how to behave to have a better next life and what religion is better and stuff. Lets just hope they arent real. We already have too many problems with gays and other minorities, lets keep the ghosts out...

Also, the belief that ghosts can't harm you isn't true. What spirits were in their lifetime are usually what they are in the afterworld.
