What is the most you have seen at one time? I am playing Sicily in a VH/VH Lands to Conquer campaign and it is about turn 65. Presently 4 factions are excommunicated - 2 because they kept attacking me, the Pope's friend and ally. The Poles are the only other faction that the Pope will even speak to and I think that the Danes are the only other faction besides Sicily and Denmark that have not been excommunicated. I have never seen this before in vanilla or mods at any level. There has been a whole lot of warfare in the West but little in the East. It has been normal for me to be at war with at least 3 factions. In my last LTC campaign I think only 2 factions ever got excommunicated in 300 years.

I'ne seen three exommunications at once. Milan, Portugal, and England. I was playing Sicily too. Milan formed an alliance and then attacked the entirety of my alliance, starting a mini world war. (If that's possible.)

When I started my spain campaign a few days ago 4 or 5 factions had been excommunated within 15 or 20 turns, on easy/easy.

in the HRR mod, Burgundy is excomed the turn after they get accepted back in, this has gone on six times now, over two crusades on them, for the past 30 turnes they've been excomed every other turn.

i don't know how much chathliocs factions there are but 1 time i only saw 5 the rest where ex comed

I've gotten everyone excommunicated by making the pope love me, than provoking everyon until they went to war with me, then they got excommunicated, and when everyone was excommunicated I attacked
Rome (took it too). Rather funny Pope screen.
