Georgia and the USA Presidential Candidates ?

I recently had an idea - The USA as most people already know for them self's is the instigator of many conflicts in the world and among them i think they may be behind the recent conflict in Georgia (They have a major but covert part), anyway before the conflict broke out the republican candidate John Mc Cane was taking a very hard line stance against Russia and when the conflict broke out his opinion polls shot up.
Was this just coincidence or was it all well planned ? What do you think ?

I think you should have added a third choice-somewhat involvement. I believe the US and NATO obviously had a part in this, but not a major part.

The US were not behind the war in Georgia. Russia planned the war against Georgia for a long time. What a BS to blame it all on the US. US were not responsible for the Ossetian rebels that shelled Georgian villages... And they were not responsible for the Russian armour columns that moved into Georgia already on the evening of August 7th. What they might be responsible for is provoking Russia by helping a small country which Russians regarded as their colony.

Where is option 3 that Putin/Russia has been creeping along attempting to provoke Georgia into acting so that it would have a pretext for "punishing" Georgia? It is just as reasonable and likely as the tinfoil hat stuff you posted. It just amazes me how so many people are so willingly to believe anyone but the US can be behind a stupid world event....

The President of Georgia overplayed a weak hand. Maybe he was under some delusion that NATO or the USA would protect him. That does not make it a collusive plan of the west. Show a source and basis or send this thread into oblivion.

even though I absolutely agree that US played a huge and distructive role in this conflict, I do not agree with our prime minister's speculations regarding the whole McCain role in it. or at least I would like to see a solid proof for it, which he will never find.

thats bull. the US has bigger fish to fry right now. You can't blame the U.S. for Russian imperialism. Want to talk about opportunism amongst our presidential candidates? How about this: during the early primaries the cornerstone of Barack Obama's campaign was his opposition to the Iraq War and his call for the immediate withdrawal of US forces, consequences be damned.

Then after the troop surge (which was the idea of Senator McCain) violence went down 150% in Iraq. All of sudden Barack Obama isn't talking about Iraq anymore... :hmmm: Its clearly in his best interest to see US lose in Iraq, its in his best interest to see US forces sustain casualties so that it reinforces his argument that its an unwinnable conflict. When it seems possible to win though, he changes the subject of debate

Study Russia's action in detail and you will see that they were just defending their citizens - also study the western actions in the modern world and see if they are imperialistic - then compare them together and see woh is more imperialistic.

it actually 100% depends on your view what the Abkhazians and South Ossetians are - rebels and evil terrorists or freedom-loving opressed people who want the world to finally recongize their independence.

then your entire perspective on this conflict completely changes .

They can earn sympathy of the international community and be rebels at the same time. Rebels aren't a bad thing. But when they use terrorism to gain that independence, they have no legitimacy to be autonomous. Russia should know better than anyone, what happens when you allow terror groups to achieve their goals and give them autonomy. All of a sudden everyone thinks they can have autonomy to a point until the country has devolved into a feudal state incapable of attaining prosperity for any of its citizens
