    Default Physics game

I ran across a cool little physics game where you have to take an object and move it using a few simple things like balls and sticks. Careful its addictive.

More engineering than physics. I suspect that some basic mechanical engineering would be useful here. I found that tread-like designs worked more than once.

I found that too, but I was also trying to solve them with as few parts as possible. I solved about 10-12 of them fairly simply. If you look through the solutions for other people there are all kinds of things, some look like animals or tanks and several are catapult style.

The one I posted above is the only posted solution for that particular situation. There are several others with no solutions posted, I think I am going to try them next.

This is kind of fun, although I do wonder what happened to the last hour and a half.

I rather like this design I came up with:

    That's a pretty good one.

I didn't come up with this next one, but I wish I had:

The best one I have seen so far is this one, but I didnt make it.

Another one, could probably tweak it and make it work better, but it works for now.

Pretty neat game. The funny thing is, most of these saved attempts usually are rather elaborate where as I have been going for simplicity. I Hope that isn't a knock on me. Take these two for example, the second being mine. Regardless, thanks GED, this site provided some good laughs as well as some frustrating moments.

Wow, those solutions make me feel horrifyingly uncreative.

I did something like that, but didn't save it.

Edit: I like this one of mine, because it works more or less by accident (I totally didn't foresee the going backwards in the end). http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=1113315

Cool I have done all but one. Thanks for the game GrnEyedDvl. Do any of you think that the last one was to easy.

I found this pretty cool. http://fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=1154753

this game is addictive is hell because i still can't quite do the last three, its also interesting seeing other peoples designs, i took forever tweaking and perfecting a machine on the 'big ball' level before letting it loose (worked like a charm) only to see other people had done it using catapults.

oh but the last level "u-bend" is painfully easy, i couldn't believe how complex some peoples designs were.

Which 3 have you got left?

Yeah. I just made a triangle.

Unpossible was a bit harder. I finally got this to work:

    http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=1138416

A little messier than I would like, but I like the way the ramp works.

Yeah. I just made a triangle.
not quite a triangle but yeah a few wheels to power it anda few that fall corectly when it goes up the ramp to drive it up

Which 3 have you got left?
the tube (i hate it so much)
    unpossible
    back and fourth

oh and also four balls, i made a conveyor belt which works except for the last ball, i'm sure if i had the patience i could tweak it to work but i dont.

Reminds me of this little program

    http://www.phunland.com/wiki/Home

You have to download it and its not really a game - more a sandbox for engineering concepts. Still pretty fun to play about with though.. the water was pretty cool too.
