Hit Point Bug?

Well I just saw something really wierd. My general has Fine Armor (+4), Marks of War (+2), Naturally Robust (+1), Courageous (+2) giving him +7 HP plus w/e hidden bonus or base is. I was chasing this lone Scottish DFK unit and engaged the army with my general only. Field was level ground grassy and no rain or fog. I just did a frontal charge agianst the DFK unit and my general dies instantly! So are these stats actually bugged and subtract HP? I also had no illness either.

what death animation did he play? Did he get thrown of his horse? or just fall down while still sitting on his horse

Maybe he was too excited and had a heart failure during the charge.

Like Emperor Frederick I who died during taking a bath in river Saleph whilst originally being on his way to Acre during his crusade in 1189.

heart failure from heat exhaustion wasn't uncommon in medieval battles, especially among those with heavy armour and who were older than others (45+) How old was the general in the O/P I wonder?

he was 37. He crashed into the DFKs and had those usual death animation of falling off the horse and the horse dying under him.

Then I would say the DFKs had one lucky fellow with them or Gods Wrath stricked down your general as it pleased HIM.

I think this is the points - he is not immortal - there is always a chance he will die & I think it was just bad luck.

HP are just a way to helps balance the game..

Bury him with honor & move on!

You must be really unlucky, as most generals take for ever to kill. A standard general without bonuses has enough health to survive one dump of boiling oil, or one rocket.
