    Default Editing time in export_descr_buildings - not showing up in-game

    Hi,

    I edited export_descr_buildings to try to speed up the build-times (getting impatient with long games at this point).

    However, my edits don't seem to have taken.

    Example: So here's the original (minus the unit names):

    armoury castle requires factions { denmark, hre, france, scotland, england, turks, egypt, moors, hungary, greek, sicily, venice, portugal, spain, }
    {
    convert_to 3
    capability
    {

    * * *
    }
    material wooden
    construction 6
    cost 9600
    settlement_min large_city
    upgrades
    {
    }
    Which I've changed to:

    armoury castle requires factions { denmark, hre, france, scotland, england, turks, egypt, moors, hungary, greek, sicily, venice, portugal, spain, }
    {
    convert_to 3
    capability
    {

    * * *
    }
    material wooden
    construction 4
    cost 9600
    settlement_min large_city
    upgrades
    {
    }
    After making similar changes to the whole file - and started a new game - I still find it taking 6 turns to complete.

    Any idea why this did not take?

    Am I missing another edit in a different file?

    You did add
    [io]
    file_first = true
    to your config file, right?

    No - first I'm hearing of it.

    What do I do exactly?

    Let you see your changes, you can also add it at the end of your shortcut.
    Wanted for:
    Breaking and gluing back together and trying to pass off as never being broken in the first place.
    Assault with a weapon that couldn't have possibly been deadly, but unfortunately was

    Okay, I must be having a "dim" day or something. I'm just not getting this.

    Can someone point me to a tutorial or explain in a bit greater detail?

    What do I need to do besides edit the export_descr_buildings file? (or, if I need to do something more to that file, other than change the number of years/turns after the word "construction" - please tell me what it is).

    TIA

    At your shortcut chose properties then you can see this "C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\medieval2.exe" you'll have to change it so it ends on --io.file_first like this "C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\medieval2.exe" --io.file_first

    OR.....add
    [io]
    file_first = true
    to your medieval2.preference.cfg file and make it read-only.
