Gold Edition 1.3 1.4?

My gold edition was only patched to 1.3 and BI was 1.4
I patched it up to 1.5 and 1.6 but when I boot the game and enter the options menu it still says 1.3 and 1.4 for BI. What's going on? I am unable to play certain mods because of this.

Hmmm. Firstly, are you sure it was gold edition? Secondly, where did you install the patches into?

gold edition is always 1.5 and BI 1.6

Wrong. The early releases of the Gold Edition had RTW and BI on CDs and while RTW was v1.5, BI was v1.4 and once installed was downgrading RTW to v1.3. Caused some issues for v1.5 mods before it was noticed.

I have found a patch that successfully installed rome to 1.5. BI 1.6 patches keep telling me gold edition detected on this machine patch is not compatible

I agree with florin80 on this - I've heard about it happening and when I installed a RTW BI over a RTW 1.5 the RTW reverted back to 1.3.

Strange but true. All that needs to happen is to re-patch RTW 1.5.

The version number of the game is shown on the top right hand side of the options menu.

Where did you install the RTW to in the first place? Where is it installed now.

I think the patches expect the game to be installed in the defaut folder.

Where did you get the RTW 1.5 and RTW 1.6 patches from?

I installed it in its default folder which was C:program files/The Creative Assembly/ Rome Total War. I got the patches from different sites using google.

Not possible gold ed is 1.5 for RTW and whatever the last patch for BI was.It does not need and cannot be patched. Gold Editions are usually released after all patches and stuff anyways as they tend to have all patches included ion the install process.

actually...
my gold edition has rtw patched to 1.5, but BI is patched to 1.4, so after i install BI my rtw goes to 1.3

that's SO DAMN WEIRD
gold edition is RTW 1.5 and BI 1.6
so i think that is almost impossible ....

check the disk search in one of the folders for the patches ore check your bock it should be mensiont which version it is.

Gold Edition just put everything in the same box. When you install BI of which is 1.4, it will set RTW to 1.3. Download the BI 1.6 patch and it will upgrade RTW to 1.5 and BI to 1.6.

Thanks, but I tried that several times and it still won't patch up. I have installed a couple of different 1.5, and 1.6 patches from different sites to no avail. Some of the patches I tried say that installation is not possible because gold edition was detected, however, the options still say 1.3 for Rome, and 1.4 for BI. Will keep trying and thanks for the help.
