New historical ships added for better naval experience.
3 different cultural influences added to emphasize the importance of cultural influences in ancient world and to make gameplay much more interesting. (is still WIP, Luciano needs to give final judgment on it).
Etruscans have their own culture now with their own music (they don’t share the music with other Italics any more).
Ligurians belong to barbarian culture now.
All BI historical events removed.
Added Alexander's death historical event.
Brigand and pirate spawn occurs less but pirates now occur more often then brigands.
Fixed a bug in export_descr_advice file that was causing the advisor pop up whenever the pre-battle scroll opened.
Added new culture specific GUI’s (interfaces) for almost all cultures (barbarian culture retained the old one).
Added 2 new songs from Garve: newbattle2 used for Etruscan battle and new_battle_unknown used for Roman battle.
Health bonuses not appearing for all factions fixed.
Construction cost for colonization buildings was changed. Prominent and culture specific bonuses were also added to colonization buildings to make their establishment worthwhile.
Base farm level has been adjusted according to the actual quality of the farming soil in PI’s regions. This diversifies the economy and makes players use different approaches for each faction. Samnites have poor soil with little farming income while prominent Etruscan farming areas give very high incomes to the player.
Historically correct resources have been added to every region on the map. Players can now see what kind of economy was present in certain regions of our mod's time (is a WIP, currently only 2 more factions need to be finished, so the project is almost at it's enclosure).
Watchtower building cost made higher to simulate watching over the borders wasn’t such a cheap endeavor as vanilla game suggests.
Port building costs considerably higher.
Building barracks costs more and they have a law bonus - each tier has higher bonus.
Population_growth_bonus has been removed from all the markets since we already have too high growth.
Road building cost and time raised considerably.
Building cost and time for mines raised.
Building cost of all temples doubled.
Piracy building tree added.
Towns Parma, Ancona, Ravenna, Ariminum, Aleria and Olbia have bigger garrison to prevent them from rebelling to fast at the start of a campaign when the AI is in control of them.
Italiotae faction received few more garrison units to be able to defend against enemies better from the start of the campaign.
New and more balanced EDU:
- Different weapon types have different lethality which is in addition also affected by unit’s training and overall quality.
- Hoplite and other spear units stand much better against sword units – their attack value of spears has been increased for +4 to compensate for hardcoded -4 attack value they get when confronted to sword units.
- Hoplite shields were given additional +2 points to better simulate the effect and protection of closely packed units.
- All hoplite units have new soldier radius to make them keep the formation better.
- Chariots have proper voice now.
- Number of charioteers in a unit is considerably smaller now – only Celtic factions retained bigger numbers of charioteers.
- The results of auto-calculated battles are now realistically balanced.
- The attack value of the Xiphos sword has been raised.
- All spear units were given "light_spear" instead of "spear" attribute to lower the “pushing” effect of the spear attribute.
