Unlock factions in custom battle mode.

Hello, I have a few factions I can't play in custom battle, Kwarezmian Empire, Norway, Ireland, Papal States and Leon Castille (spain).

I play the stainless steel mod. I just wonder how I change the text files so I can play these factions in custom battle? I really want to try out Norway and Ireland.

You should really post this in the SS forum.

The custom battle selection has a limit. Theres a file somewhere (i'm not sure which), that will have a selection for custom battles. You will need to disable a faction for every other faction you enable, otherwise the game will crash.

EDIT: Found this quote in an SS thread. Should solve your problem.

If you look again you'll notice that several factions aren't available in custom battles. This is because the number of factions able to be available to custom battles is less than the number of factions allowed in the game. So some factions had to be cut from the list. But if you really want to play a certain faction in custom battles, open the descr_sm_factions.txt file in the Stainless_Steel_6\data\ folder and change the faction's custom battle availability to "yes" and another faction to "no". :original:

For late campaign, when you're at the point where you're about to enter the "Imperial_Campaign" folder, click instead on "Custom Campaign". The late campaign should be in there.

I found the late campaign thing so that's fixed now. I'm cool with removing 1 faction for another, I hate the nomad factions (golden horde, cuman khanate, novgorod, russia, byzantine etc).

Thanks mate that fixed it, btw, did Ireland use to have their own language or something? All of their soldiers have really strange names, like Saethwyr, Mirue, Galloglaich, Ridere and a few more I can't remember.

Er they still do, usually called Gaelic (in English) - although nearly everyone also speaks English.
In the Caighdeán Oifigiúil (the official written standard) the name of the language is Gaeilge.
