im guess your new to ss based on your 2 posts, the reason for this is that recruitment no longer relies on the level of your castle. you MUST build barracks and such in the castle in order to train better troops. the castle size simply determins which buildings you are abel to make there
hope this helps and welcome!

in ss, castles dont come with units, if u look on your building browser and click on the barracks it will tell u if u will get any recruitment from it, if not, then theres a problem
Could be one of several problems:
1) You are playing just SS6.1 and you haven't built any barracks or stables or archery range in your castle. Build them and you can then recruit units.
2) You are playing with Real Recruitment installed. This mod does allow you to recruit units like knights and swordsmen from the castle without building anything else, but many of them will only become available around turn 100 or 200. Also, even when they become available, it may take a few turns for the recruitment 'pool' to fill up. Just wait.
3) You are playing with Grim Reality installed. This places severe limitations on the kinds of troops you can hire. You must have the correct kind of general present to hire the better troops. Go read the Grim Reality FAQ to find out more.
4) You have more than one of these mods installed. Good luck.
I already have barraks and playing with Grim Reality installed, turn 85, it possible remove the mod Grim Reality in the "midle of the game".
what you mind "have the correct kind of general" ?
If you're playing with BGR installed via the 6.1 patch, then you will need to download a hotfix, or else you will only ever have peasant units. You'll find this in the BGR subforum under submods.
I'm unsure if uninstalling BGR will remove from your current save. However, if you wish to remove it, I think you can run the 6.1 patch again. This time, do not select RR / BGR III, but click Remove BGR II.

Give a man a fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of the day.
Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
You need to read the Grim Reality FAQ because I don't use it myself, but basically you need to have your generals in the castle to hire troops there. They also need to have certain titles/ranks (must be on the war council) in order to hire the better troops.
thanks Dopp,
this is a nightmare
how i fix this, now?
It's possible disable the Grim Reality inside the game?
or saved game?
Nope, I think you may need to restart. Hopefully you were just starting the campaign, I can't imagine playing more than 30 turns with just peasants. It's also little difficult to disable it now... someone who uses Grim Reality might be able to tell you how to get rid of it.
Don't believe it is save compatible. You have to reinstall the 6.1 upgrade and unselect BGRIII. The right Generals means ones on the War Council, but also Faction Zeal and territory religious percentage can impact what's available. Truly, if you're new to SS, then BGR may be a bit much.
