    Default Pope Problems

How do I remove only the Pope's missions and crusades? The Wiki says you should delete all the Pope related files, but this wil also delete the Papal States faction, and I don't want this .

    Help!

You could try just removing all the entries under "Pope Missions" in the descr_missions.txt. Alternatively, you could just change all Catholic factions to a different catholic religion with different internal names and such, and then they should all be exempt from papal missions. Without the missions and crusades though the papal states is pretty much defunct, so you could just remove it and create a new papal states faction with the template of a normal faction.

Well it could be hardcoded. What we know about crusade targets in Vanilla is they are one of three things:

    A) A city which has the "crusade" hidden resource in the descr_regions.txt
    B) A city which is the capital of a muslim, orthodox, pagan, or excommunicated faction
    C) A city which otherwise is listed in the hardcode as a target

So you said you removed it from the descr_regions, which rules out A. The second possibility is Egypt makes it their capital once they capture it, or the Turks, which could cause it to be a target. It could also be the rebel capital once Dijon is taken. If none of those are true, than it is hardcoded, which quite frankly would make sense.
