Default Kyrgyz Air Crash: Fault of the Company?

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7580107.stm

The recent and tragic loss of the plane and its passengers have but doubts in my head that Beoing is not doing the best it can to train technicians and others about keeping the plane in the air. As per the Prime Minister
Prime Minister Chudinov said the plane had been made in 1979 and was "in good condition and had an extended warranty".
There was a extended warranty and it was in good condition. Should Boeing be responsible for training technicians?

Ah, you literally beat me to it. I was going to start a thread about how safty airplanes are and use this as an example.

We need more modern planes, 1979, no wonder why it crashed.

i think its more about adequate maintenance. Boeing is not responsible for how operators use their planes. If its a bulit in technical problem then yes. Like cars.

    My condolences to the families.

No, I'm not accusing Boeing of that, what I'm concerened with is, Is Boeing providing adequte training to personel on how to fix planes, giving them the manuals and parts they need and an adequte warrenty.

Age doesn't have anything to do with the issue, Attila. It's the level of maintenence.

Besides, there is always a risk of flying by air. Quite many aircraft have crashed, mostly from lack of maintenence, or some defunk.

We need to fix that! Did you hear about the crash in the Canaries? Crashes happen like almost every week now.

Yup. Two crashes with causalties in a week... The sky, erm the planes are falling.

Guess what? You can never be 100% safe anywhere, plane crashes, just as car crashes, will happen eventually.

There's a bunch of cars crashing every minute... Two planes falling is hardly catastrophy compared to the 63 persons that died on the roads per week in '06. And that's only in Britain.

It's bad, but it's nowhere close to other problems we're facing.

IT IS BAD if it turns out the airlines executive was trying to save a few cents by cutting maintanance costs

If they were breaking the rules while shaving those cents, then yeah it's bad. But no where as bad as 9 persons dieing on the roads every day to shave off some millions on road budget...

    IMO

Two major airplane disasters in under a week ( Madrid and Kyrgyz ) really make you think if maintanance crews are doing their job well.

I just hope it doesn't have anything to do with companies cutting costs due to high fuel prices...

Well, without knowing how the plane crashed we can't really say anything about it. Feel sad for the family of the victims.

Its not Boeing's fault. The blame cant be put on Boeing or Airbus for plane crashes unless it is a design flaw, maintenance is key and it is ultimately up to the carriers. If I buy a car and never change its oil and it dies...is it GM or Toyota's fault?

Is this linked to the Spanish crash last week?

It may be linked if both planes sufferd poor maintanance services...

the boeing 737 owned by Itek Air was I think the 200 model ( introduced in 1968 ). This plane was built in 1979 ( that's 29 years of service ) and Itek Air is banned from EU airspace due to fears over safety standards so I wouldn't be surprised if the cause is poor maintanance

Spanair's MD 82 engines caught fire during take off and witnesses said they heard explosions before it crashed. A problem that leads to both engines exploding could have been observed before take off by maintanance crews or pilots cause that sort of malfunction doesn't happen without warning...

Even then it's not linked. Two different types of planes, two different types of operators, two different countries. There's is basically no link other than both being commercial airliners.
