I told a friend of mine about this mod and he downloaded it and played as the Papal Faction in the early era. He was loosing a lot of money. It was not the field cost scrip for any generals outside of his cities. Apparently, as the Papal States you are given Inquisitors and they are your units to move. Well, I looked at the field cost script for the Papal States:

    monitor_event CharacterTurnEnd FactionType papal_states
    and I_LocalFaction papal_states
    and not EndedInSettlement
    and not AgentType = admiral
    and not AgentType = spy
    and not AgentType = diplomat
    and not AgentType = assassin
    and not AgentType = priest
    and not AgentType = princess
    and not AgentType = merchant
    and not AgentType = general
    and InEnemyLands

    console_command add_money papal_states, -1000

    end_monitor

... and there is no "and not AgentType = Inquisitor" I think the game is charging a field script for Inquisitors. Have not changed the file myself yet but thought I would throw it out there and see if that could be the problem.

Papal States shall not expand in our mod ... hmm, i'm anyway all for it, that Papal States will be unplayable for the human player. SV himself refuses as yet to set it that way for the public releases ... or maybe also an oversight.

I guess I see it as the Italian Guelfs (ie. Papal States, The Lombard League, Duchy of Tuscany, etc...). There will always be someone that complains about it not being playable

    SicilianVespers,

Many thanks for your advice about waiting for the map to build. I guess I was just being impatient: after about five minutes I was able to play, and I haven't experienced the wait since.

Reading above re: Papal States Playable, is it the policy of the mod-design that the Papal States *will* be playable? (I think I'm having that Inquisitor-no-money problem mentioned by StinkFloyd above) - If not, I'll just play other factions, but I was thoroughly enjoying playing the Papacy...

    Thanks,

One more question... I don't know if this is a bug, but....

Playing the Papacy, I had a general governing Florence who became a "REBEL" (& "You are NOT my King!") - I noticed this when the public order of Florence went from green to red in one turn. I discovered that if I left the general in the city, it would flip to Neutral/Rebels. So, I reloaded, waited for the general to become a "Rebel" and removed him from Florence.

Then I discovered that his movement rate went down to almost nothing. I began moving him towards Fermo (Rebel) to kill him off in a battle, but as I got further east, I eventually could go no further.

So now I have this "Rebel" general who can't move, stuck outside any Papal city, and thus incurring $500/turn costs! And if I put him in a city to get rid of the $500/turn penalty, it'll flip Neutral/Rebel... Is this normal??

    Best Regards,

Wow. That's a lot (... your next money is good invested in a cpu upgrade and/or Ram etc.; also a hd defrag-run could help), it takes only about 20 seconds on my system.

SV, if it is so, then we should give a clear hint inn the install/start-instructions, that it takes up to 5 minutes until the map is built.

Guys, I still have no answer. Just remembering the problem: I have a powerful PC, with M2TW and Kingdoms Installed, both patched and runnig perfectly. I was playing SV 2.5 with no problem, then I saw the SV 3.0 and downloaded it. I uninstalled SV 2.5 and removed completly the game files that weren't removed with the uninstaller. After that I installed SV 3.0 without any problem. But when I click at the launcher the game just doesn't run. The launcher screen appears for about half a second or even less, then nothing happens. And yes, all the game files are in the correct place. Please help me!! I'm collapsing here. Getting crazy trying toi play the mod.

My main concern is that if I keep on playing, will I die because my family will starve out, or is this just a glitch of showing up on the family tree, and doesn't affect birth or anything of the sort? I don't even mind if my scottish family dies out, as long as the danish one keeps on going.

:hmmm::hmmm:I am not sure if this has been reported as a bug with the MOD, or just a bug with my installation. I have run several test in all the eras with varying factions. Here it goes....

The farthest I can upgrade is Fortress. If a citadel starts the scenario as one, then that it OK. If the castle/fortress starts then you cannot upgrade the building to citadel. Take Nottingham as an example. It starts the scenario as a pre-existing citadel, it is fine. It starts as any other type of castle and it cannot be upgraded past fortress. The same with Toulouse and other citadels. I did not know if this is a bug, or an intentional design feature....hope this is helpful.

As Anjou in early, when I try to recruit Feudal Milites I get charged for them and a notification lists them as recruited, but they are not in my castle.

Hello first of all, I absolutely love this mod. I've finished a dark age campaign as Sicily w/o any problems and am about 1/2 done with the Anglo-Saxon campaign. The only problem I have seen is the lack of competence when defending a city/castle against the AI besiegers. Ex. the danes attacked london with a full stack and I had 3 spear militia plus a general. I placed all my units in the main square and waited for the onslaught, but the AI only sent 1 unit at a time to attack me. Whenever their unit reached my infantry, they fought for 1 minute or so, then panicked and fled, only to regroup by the city gate and once again, attack/rout. This kept happening over and over again, and since I play w/o the battle time limit, I was forced to make a suicide attack on them just to end the battle. I've had this problem on both m/h and h/h settings. Is this a common problem or am I just unlucky?
