    Hey yer it seems like a fantastic mod sadly when i try and start up darkage wqhen i press start is waits for a minute then returns to the main menu , i am using vista home premium, and it seems other people are having a few troubles as well, i was wondering is the whole access denied at the beginning supposed to happen

    I will try add the darkage specific unit units to the other EDU's to avoid this type of error.
    I used d option as all era family trees were correct,and everything went smooth until I sacked the city.

    I have started another campaign in late and renaissance for a few turns that worked fine, and went back to dark age to play the byzantines.

    Mine game is really Sllloooowwwww.. Anybody else. My graphics are normal. I use the SS6.1 and others too.

    For the strat mode you should disable the AI turn-display.

    Did it . But the animationd armies which are moving, "sneaking", over the map(even when i click to speed up, they do but than it is a small pause when they arrive at their destination.

    Make sure this is in the [game] section of the SicilianVespers.cfg:

    ai_factions = skip
    campaign_map_game_speed = 10
    campaign_map_speed_up = 1



    You could play with the "campaign_map_game_speed" to speed it to your liking.


    "campaign_map_speed_up=1" is the equivalent of pressing the space bar

    I reproduced the error starting the darkage campaign.

    It is definitely caused by trying the start the darkage after choosing an era other than the darkage.

    I had that same problem but i have solved it you have to be an administrator and when you want to start the mod you have to right click on the shortcut and chose run as administrator then you chose d.

    Otherwise it just say acces denied when it is supposed to load and when you want to start a campaign it goes back ot the menu.

    If you are getting access denied, that is a major problem, as the mod won't be able to configure itself.

    You will need permissions to overwrite in the mods\SicilianVespers folder to get by this.

    You should see something like this, for the Darkage:

    1 files copied
    1 files copied
    1 files copied
    1 files copied
    1 files copied
    1 files copied
    1 files copied
    1 files copied
    1 files copied
    1 files copied
    1 files copied
    1 files copied
    16 files copied
    16 files copied

    I can't remember the exact verbage, you get the point. If there are any file not found or access denied messages, that is very bad.

    I refuse to use vista, so I probably can't be much help in this area.

    Mod and eras works fine only minor things:

    Genoese town guards can't stop being in spearwall formation. If they start with siege equipment they can run without, but once they form one they are stuck with it rest of the battle and they are really slow. (high era)

    I was offered Merchant quild and i doesn't have merchant rights in the city, engine probably doens't check it, maybe only give local quild point if rights are bought...

    possibly BUG with buildable forts - they are probably the permanent stone forts now.

    I have just noticed that when I build a fort (it costs only 500) it looks like permanent stone fort on the campaign map (dont know yet how it looks on battle map) and it stays there eventhough I have no garrison in it. So I think that those temporary forts were probably switched for permanent stone forts - If that is the case then I would suggest to increase their cost.

    They are supposed to cost 2500, I must have undone the change somehow....thanks

    There are some other things I want to slip in with the patch, not bugsfixes, but enhancements. Give me a few days

    Internally, we have an advanced bug thread, for the long term fixing/adjusting job. Those are tasks for several of the next patches or major releases.
