Hold 45 regions?!? in 230(?) turns?!? I'm playing a game now as Venice and I'm already at 160 turns and I only hold 20 regions. For you is the win conditions realistic?

easily, i dont know how you play but usually in under 100 turns i have around 25-40 regions,

i rarely make it to the gunpowder, age and im not just tooting my own horn, its pretty common for people to beat the game in around 100-150 turns, that taking the whole world too.

try being more aggressive, and if you get whooped, try an easier difficulty.

    Easily
It is quite possible to do a thing called "blitz" and win the campaign in less than a hundred turns(lightning fast and extremely aggressive nonstop wars).
It's pretty complex to explain fully "how". Just play the game, you'll learn.

you have to be unrealistic in taking 45 regions in X amounts of turns, but after playing road to rome total war and METW II + kingdoms really opens you up to what has to be done to achieve a win. i think short campaign is better in that it is more realistic with having to destroy your enemys and hold a certain amount of regions, though i never personaly played short campaign.

Leave it to the modder to perfect the works of the paid developers for no profit at all.

there are a lot of people who blitz, and manage to complete campaign goals before the mongols arrive

did that to unlock all factions, now i take my time and have fun

Actually you can conquer every region in 23 turns, but only with the Turks.

    Others take a bit longer.

Hmmmm, I used BLITZMASTERS method, and I came to complete world domination with the turks in 31 turn. No screens though, sorry.

160 turns and 20 regions? Do you ever declare war on anybody? I've conquered the entire map on SS (199 regions), in a bit past 130 turns, and that was with no blitzing strategies or anything. Albeit I was in a constant state of war, but I was playing fairly normally.

By the sound of it you're just turtling non-stop. Attack once in a while and you'll find it much easier.

Theres nothing wrong with you, some of us are conquerors some of us are rulers. Its just different play styles, I myself am a ruler. An interesting thing that Ive noticed is that I get bored with factions when they start to overstretch their history (IE: when im playing as scottland I just get bored when scottland starts to expand beyond england). Play the short campaign, you might like it more. Or you could lengthen the game by changing the code a bit.

It's pretty hard with venice, if you want to win easy but still get to enjoy the game for a while, choose HRE, took me 113 turns to get 70 regions and conquer all of the settlements needed. So I still got to enjoy the game before it ended. However, you can download a mod in the Text and Script Editing forum that makes 1 year 12 turns, 6 turns or 4 turns, then you'll get over a thousand turns to complete your mission, if you choose the long campaign, 4100 turns with the 12 turns per year script!

I'm not sure what it's called, but I found it in a thread in the Stainless Steel forum. That thread was called "years per turn screw the game" so just search for that.
