Experience for ranged units?

Well the mods great and the units fantastic, but none of my ranged units are gaining any ranged experience points when they gain a chevron. If there is a reason why they do gain a mele chevron instead id like to know. and then change it so mele get mele chevrons and ranged get ranged.

What improves with their experience is their discipline and accuracy. Ranged damage being improved with experience was just silly and unrealistic. That's why it got removed in the Real Combat mod (part of SS).

I think he means experience bonus to attack, but that is hardcoded.

Thanks for replying What i mean is all new units start off with o of 9 chevrons of exp. When lets say a Archer unit gains a lvl he gets a +1 to his mele stat and not his ranged attack.. That seems very strange as he did not engage anyone in hand to hand combat. So why even award him the +1 mele bonus at all?. Now a Foot Knight who gains a lvl gets that +1 to mele and THAT does make sense. I see that they the modders also make it possible to gain +3 to mele once you get 7 chevrons and thats ok i just dont follow why missile units dont improve at what they do,

I think not gaining ranged attack is hardcoded. Sadly

But the Archers get extra accuracy, and I've heard they also fire faster. So they're better than grunts...

Yeah, experienced archers do fire better even if it doesn't show in the ranged attack stat.
