Cossack Gunner Problem
Unlike Camel Gunners, Cossack Gunners make arrow release sounds when they fire as well as the regular musket sounds, plus the rear rank of the unit doesn't fire at all. Is there something that needs to be edited to iron out these bugs?

Same thing happens with the Caliverman for Scotland. Makes bow noise as well as musket.

Back ranks not firing means you have too deep formation. It's a common problem for all musketeers.

Re: Cossack Gunner Problem
Okay, I think I solved the arrow firing problem endemic to all 'new' (as in ported in from Kingdoms/created for SS) gunpowder units. Here's the quick solution for those who are interested:
1) Stainless Steel 'data' folder has a descr_sounds_unit_fire.txt file. This assigns the 'archer' sound to all missile units by default. For crossbows, javelins, guns and so on, you need to specify them under the relevant entry within this file. First you should rightclick and under 'properties' uncheck the 'read-only' option to avoid any confusion later.
2) Run a search for 'infantry gunners' and you'll find a line like this:
type Cossack Musketeers, Arquebusiers, Musketeers, ....
Add the new gunpowder units to the list:
type Cossack Musketeers, Arquebusiers, Musketeers, Hand Gunners, Portuguese Arquebusiers, Mercenary Arquebusiers, Janissary Musketeers, ME Hand Gunners, Sudanese Gunners, Mamluk Handgunners, Hospitaller Gunner, Templar Gunners, Byzantine Gunners, Greek Arquebusiers, Calivermen, Lithuanian Arquebusiers
3) Run a search for 'mounted gunners' and do the same thing:
type Elephants, Elephants Mercs, Reiters, Camel Gunners, Cossack Gunners, Mounted Calivermen
4) Save and exit.
5) Vital step now. In the same 'data' folder there is a 'sounds' folder. Inside there's a file called 'events.dat'. Remove it so that the game will generate a new one when it next starts up. Might want to put the old one somewhere safe in case something messes up and you need to restore.
6) It should work now. No more arrow sounds.
@delra: Yes, I figured out that Camel Gunners stand a little bit taller on their mounts (the humps I guess) so they have less problems getting both ranks to fire. All other mounted gunners, including Reiters, use heavy horses or ponys and sit lower, so the back ranks don't fire when blocked. Conducted a few tests by giving Cossack Gunners camel mounts and they could fire just fine, so the problem is the elevation and line of sight. Recommend giving shooting circle to Cossack Musketeers to avoid this problem. If only there was a way to adjust the firing elevation of mounted firearms...
