    Default Questions

    Hi
Can someone please help with some advice for a newbie?
Does trade work along similar lines to MEI in that you need ships to link between ports?
How do you get merchants and how do they work?
How can move troops/princesses/agents, etc across seas?
    Thanks in advance

You can get merchants in city's when you build a grain exchange. if you trained 1 than move it to a resource which makes te most money.

You can get agents and stuff across sea by using a boat

    Hi,answers to your questions are:
    1. no you don't have to have ships to link between the ports but you have to get trade rights with other factions in order to trade with them ie to establish links with their ports, if you don't have trade rights your port wan't be trading with other faction's port
2.merchants are trained in cities exclusively and you have to have at least grain exchanget building built in order to recruit them;merchants trade with resources and resources are those little thingies sprinkled around the campaign map, for example near Constantinople you have tube of textile representing silk as trade resource, when you mouseover it you will have little text saying ''silk-valuable resource'', in England there are little piles of wool representing wool as trade resource, when you recruit merchant you just place him on the resource and he wil start trading, once you place him on the resource you don't have to worry about him any more he will keep trading 'till he's dead or 'till some other merchant aquire his assests.
3.just embark them on the ship, point your unit/agent to the ship with the right mouse button and when it reach ship there will be little arrow showing you to embark it, like in Rome TW.
