Icon9 How do I get rid of Kingdoms Music

First off, great mod. I'm sure you're getting no end of appreciation for your work.

The music on the campaign map, however, is terrible. Random thirty-second snippets of some banjo or flute if you're a northern european faction. I understand the desire to port as many features of the kingdoms campaigns to the grand campaign, such as burning oil and an expanded selection of units to pick from, but bringing the campaign music over as well was a terrible choice.

I just loaded up vanilla (unmodded) M2:TW, started a campaign as the HRE, and was surprised by how much more immersive and dark it is when compared to some woman wailing in welsh for fifteen seconds.

Please, please tell me which files I have to delete or modify to get my vanilla campaign music back! I want the rest of the features in this mod, but cannot stand the music!

    Thank you in advance.

Just delete the C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\sounds\music folder

Also you must delete, music.dat/idx and events.dat/idx -

Finally delete the descr_sounds_music file in the Main SS data directory.

    Good luck =]

maybe the end music could be used somewhere as well, its used during loading times without the singing. I found in on Youtube sometimes, I never finished any campaign so I never knew it existed.

Inhuman one: yes the credit music is very nice. I wouldnt mind replacing that with the current boring intro in SS.

Also I agree that the vanilla music campaign is pretty good. Is tehre anyway to add it for some factions only?

I do not understand this - if one deletes the music file in the MTW's main program, there will be NO music; is this correct? If no, there will still be music, which files is the game using?

no, you will be deleting the music file in the SS folder.
How the mod works is that instead of looking at the base files for the game it looks at those in the mod, so if the mod does not contain a file it uses the base one.
which means your just removing the new music which is being seen and used now, which uncovers the old music for the game

    that make any sense?

In short then, what exactly do I have to remove? Servants description is rather confusing.
The entire Music Folder in the MTW- Kingdom/data/music and SS6.1/data/Music (not just ***.dat and ***.idx)?

    delete
    \mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\sounds\music (folder)
    \mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\sounds\music.idx (file)
    \mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\sounds\music.dat (file)
    \mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\sounds\events.idx (file)
    \mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\sounds\events.dat (file)
    \mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\descr_sounds_music.txt (file)

I havent tried it myself but that is what he says to do.

Thanks, Nightbringer, I did just that and it works.

The music seems incomplete or is it just my imagination. I will compare the two files and see whether anything can be salvaged from the SS music.
    Mod question:
Can I just copy the file from Music Folder (SS/old) into the new Music Folder created by the game?
Would this work, or do I have to do something else (besides deleting Events.idx/dat and Music.idx/dat) ?

EDIT: THERE IS NO MUSIC OR VERY LITTLE MUSIC - I changed it back!
