Default No more jungles/tropical forests in Mediterranean world

For those of you who find jungles around Jerusalem and Constantinople odd, here's a file that can fix it to what it should really be--semi arid. See below:

SS Original Climate (dark green represents jungle/tropical forest climate)

    Modified

    To install:

    1. make a backup of map_climates.tga located in Stainless_Steel_6/data/world/maps/base folder
    2. download the modified climate file http://www.filefront.com/15615907/map_climates.tga and place it in Stainless_Steel_6/data/world/maps/base folder
    3. delete map.rwm located in the same folder. (note loading the game may take a bit longer than usual at first since it's creating a new map.rwm file, it should be back to normal after wards)

It should be saved game compatible. Enjoy!

good observation: the blue in italian and greece peninsula are semi arid, which means you will see palm trees with ground similar to arid/desert. I was kinda thrown back when I was playing on that ground on vanilla SS6 thinking why am i fighting in a frggin desert in italian peninsula? palm trees and arid grounds were totally out of place! Hence the change and the consistency in climate for both peninsulas.

how does the change in climate affect food production in those regions?

will some get more / less food than before?

    Rozanov:

That's a good question and I would also like to know the details on that. However, in my current campaign with Jerusalem under my control, I didn't notice any decrease in population growth rate; it's still rather a population boom town. Let me know if you notice anything different.

Note the file is save game compatible and you can always revert to the original climate in the same campaign granted you saved the vanilla map_climate.tga.... you just need to delete map.rwm every time you do.

    Very nice mate.
Reap the promised end to the struggle. Reap every point on our linear path.
Reap the smiles in time we borrow, every harvest relies on the last.
Reap the promising song of the sparrow, that they learned from the birth of sea.
Silenced by the threnody of the crows. Reap the fallen fruit of the dogwood tree.
But I witnessed in all this silence one soul's definition of beauty. and a backlit smile so temporary.
A facade so rich with evil history. Cast in direct opposition set to overwhelm this moment to shine and sleep.
came out on top of what was borrowed, and found all that beauty to be still...

I uploaded the file again on filefont. Wanted this modified climate on my new download for RR/RC compilation and found it no longer available. Just contributing to the community.
