    Default Setting initial Authority level

    I ve just started modding M2TW.......a little mod, just for fun

    I've changed family trees and regions ownership according to the new starting date (A.D. 1210)

    The problem is that after that I've found that some Leaders gained many authority points, and others gained nothing or even losed authority.

    I tried to use ancillaries and traits but I still have some kings with high authority level.

    I wonder why this happens, maybe because some of them gained new regions?
    Is there any way to set the initial authority level?

    Yes, there is. In the export_descr_character_traits.txt, there should be a trait called "FactionLeader" It should say something like Authority 2 change that to whatever you want.

    Yes but changing that trait will affect the Authority of ALL leaders.

    What I want to do is to modify the Authority of just SOME of them.

    Just an exemple:

    I've put John Lackland as England faction leader. I've added York and Bordeaux to England (so that England now has London, Nottingham, York, Caen and Bordeaux). I've added to John Lackland many traits that reduce his authority but I dunno why his authority level is at maximum (he comes out with full authority!!). I wonder if that authority is bound with the acquisition of those new territories (or what else? He has no traits that increase authority, but factionleader).

    What can I do to reduce his authority without changing the other leaders? :hmmm:

    Make sure the faction leader indeed has these authority reducing traits. Check his traits in the campaign and then double check the traits in the trait file to make sure that the traits indeed give the penalty to authority they say they do.

    As you can see he has all the traits working but something is wrong with authority.

    I agree with Commodore. It's either this or your game is broken.
    Back in Medevial I, when you had about 20-30 inquisitors in a region, their "pacifying" ability was too much and instead the region revolted. So I hope it's that.
