Trouble as Venice...

So its like turn 75. I have most of the Holy land, Timbuktu and the 2 places you can get to if from, Greece, some of Asia Minor, and most of Northern Italiy. France is excomed, I'm allied with Spain, Sicily, Portugal, Russia, THE MONGOLS (in holy land) and the Pope. HRE, my rivals (not at war by the way), is allied with the Turks, and all the other Catholic factions except Scotland (isolated) and Milan (who are dead). That includes the Pope.

So, if I attacked them, would I lose my alliance with the pope and possibly get excomed? Or should I take out the Danes (at war for a few turns and the pope hasn't threatened me because I have ~full crosses and outstanding relationship) and the rest of their allies and then close in for the kill? (and And Russia is the Vassal of Poland so if I attacked what would happen?) Or should I wait for the Pope to die first and get one of my cardinals up there?

And there is one more option, take out the Muslims. (moors: 3 provinces. Egypt 2 and 1 under siege. Turks: Like 6? one under siege by me. Mongols: they haven't attacked me yet. Unless I can get enough cash to get them to attack the Turks I'm probably next though.)

i had a problem semular to this as my first time as Venice what i would do is take all of Africa mores etc and while doing that get all my bordered city/castle etc.. then go back north take the Byzantine empire or go to Russia by that time some country's shouldn't have alliance/or just not as good to the pope. if i remember the Byzantine empire inst cathlioc so i would go there then go north east(if you want u can attack the turks or u can take your forces north to Russia and seround them) at the end of this u should have20-30 city's maybe more then u can attack spain from Africa and another county from a eastern province u own (Russia, byzantine, Venice it self but id rather take the north route please msg me if this works or if another problem comes up

p.s yes i used the map it comes with the game to my advantage

o i left out u could try to make alliance with turks until mongels are dead. and since the turks are none cathlioc you shouldn't get excommunicated for attacking them and betraying alliance

I said I have ALL of Greece and some of Asia Minor. And I'm Venice. What does that mean? (cough cough 4th Crusade cough cough)

And I'm at war with the Turks. And they're allied with HRE. And I killed Milan too, and since the HRE and its allies were all allied with Milan and the Byzies so THEY HATE ME TOO.

i still think it would be key to go down south for africa unless the crusade is a threat to you and if so keep going north but if you want to be defenseve with in 20 turns you could have 4 more armeirs with full men esayliey
